Hi Wol. Glad to hear you feel a bit better. But Z is absolutely right - you *must* let yourself heal, don't go straight back into 100% work - tho you do sound like you've had a bit of a wakeup call. Thats been going on for me again - but much deeper this time. I've still been dragging myself around, and I made an administrative mistake that I discovered during a phonecall with my business partner - and usually, I feel terrible about things like that. I just ... didn't. Next to how bad I'm feeling, it simply doesn't matter, its an inconvenience thats really no big deal (about a potential client, not even an existing one). And I know by that that I really am focussing on me, not on being "the good girl", which is what I usually do. The next day, I even chanced being late for an appointment (not a client) so that I could get some of my X rays done for the rheumatologist. If you can start to put yourself first like that, then slowly, I think things will also begin to improve for you. I'm now able to walk for maybe half an hour before I need to rest, whereas before it was just about being able to feed myself and keep warm. It *will* get better - just take it slow. Stroke the piggies.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Well, nice chiropracter says the worst is over but it will take a few sessions to put everything back together again properly. I have to be careful (no sudden turns or twists) and not spend too much time sitting in one place e.g. at PC or in the car..There is still a lot of [STRIKE]money to be spent[/STRIKE] work to be done on the usual problem areas that, now the spasm is over, decided to make themselves painfully evident today as to how unstable they are.
Builders came for inspection this afternoon and having described the work as "a piece of cake", then said they "couldn;t guarantee to replace the coving without damaging the bathroom tiles " and they "hopefully should be able to get it done in time for Xmas"!
No further comment ......
..My back would so appreciate a hot bath...if I get really desperate I am considering buying a hard hat and umbrella off ebay
Early start tomorrow to reserve my car-parking place on the M25 - seeing hand consultant at 10.30am in Chelmsford so if I leave at 7am I might just get there in time :rotfl:
Got to go lie down again now -I wish MSE didn;t take soo long to load up each page these days as it;s seriously impinging on my lurking/thanking/reply capability :mad:..

Hi Wol.
Just a thought but maybe you can take a hot water bottle with you in the car in case you get any pain on the journey....its not much but will be warm enough to ease any twinges if they occur.
Glad you are a little better...back pain is awful...I have neck problems & they can strike anytime too & it effects everything you do so take it easy.

I hope the journey is going well - and that you saw SSA's post about a hot water bottle. Or a wheatbag? Good luck with the consultant today.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
