Hello Wol - yes, things ok in Nargleland at present. Just back from 7 days in Budapest (30 degrees every day, bit of a shock touching down at Heathrow which was only 18 degrees...) which I think we all needed as a break. Nice to be home again though. European laundry mountain done, just waiting for the I word... must start that tomorrow. Cat has been fussing round us like a fussing round thing since we bailed him out of prison yesterday. Chicken (only one now, other one went to a new home with some other chickens on the allotments as she was getting spooked by cats coming into our garden) managing to lay a few eggs a week, must look out a companion for her when I stop being so busy!

You sound more upbeat and chilled about things now your house is back to rights, shows how we are affected by our environment, doesn't it? Hope your family visit goes ok and mama behaves herself - you could try and dose her up with alcohol to mellow her a bit, but it's a question of the right amount for the job.....think of the four stages of drunkeness. Verbose, joculose, bellicose and comatose. Ideally you would like your mum to be in the second or the fourth stage, but the law of Sod would mean she would get firmly stuck in stage one or three. Perhaps you had better start some Buddhist chanting or some yogic meditation to prepare you for the challenge to come......someone once said to me that visitors are like cheese. After 3 days they start to smell...

So good to hear from you Nargle and glad you have had a good summer's rest.

Hmmmmmmm ......One chickie may not suffice in terms of required egg production for the coming weekend :eek:....hope it won;t blot their copybook

Dosing mam with alcohol is a no-no - bit like "The Bugblatterbeast of Troll " (copyrght D Adams) the moment alcohol touches her lips

Bring on the Buddhist chanting :D

Well - not as much porgress with the list as hoped - but progress never the less. Lounge is now beautiful - despite having 9 additional residents - not a whisp of hay in isght!!

And 4 lots of washing done and dried.

And sprouted mint cuttings are now potted up:T

I have fixed up KC to see top totty electrician early next week :drool::drool:;)

I now have sorted Piggie Palace plus new freezer and new hay :T:T
And I have consequently taken photos of everything and emailed (following much farting about condensing/compacting said photos) a representative example of Piggie Life chez Wol" to the lady wth the female top totty ( I hope I pass whatever tests she has set)

As for the rest of the tasks - well tomorrow is another day :cool::cool:

    Nite all

P.S. So lovely to see you all here

A sunny breezy morning :j - perfect dryng weather for all the piggie towels....phew

Just popping on while waiting for the freezer for Piggie Palace to arrive - then I can start batch cooking in earnest..:j:j

..I have more courgettes and beans to freeze - plus my OAP neighbour has given me a large marrow from his garden -( I'm not sure if there is a hidden message there  -he still pops in for his weekly snog ;))

More tasks to do for this week:
Book Big Bruv to come help move the cages into PP.(today)...Done
Move Piggies from lounge into PP (friday) - booked
Send photos of piggie set-up to the lady who is rehoming her piggies to me (today) DONE
Review new client business plan (tomorrow) - not done yet - but printed out all 200 pages
    Raise some invoices (today) DONE
Prepare one page summary about my new work prorgamme to send to clients (today) NOT DONE YET TONIGHT
Blitz my bedroom ready to install the parents when they arrive at the weekend (friday) almost done
Clean car (tomorrow) not done - rain :(
Feed all veggies and hanging baskets (today) not done - rain :(
Mow lawns (when/if they dry out enough!!) ditto
Tackle Mount Kilimanjironing - not been touched since July :eek:_pale_.....
Currently Investigating Numpty's suggestion of the loft :D

......don;t think I'll put anything else down or I'll get freaked out....

Hope you all have a good day
    xxx

So some progress but not as much as hoped - However:

Cooker and oven now cleaned (again) and finally sparkly :T

5 loads of (piggie) washing done and dried

Spent loads of time over last couple of evenings chatting to best friends :D:j:beer::T:A

Freezer now ready for batch coocking

Complained to supplier because the rather expensive £70 box of piggie hay I ordered is not as described (here we go again :()...and quite frankly I think they have sent me old stock compared to my last order which was lovely :mad:

So cue email/photographs etc etc...AGAIN..(YE GODS I AM SO TIRED OF ALL THIS RUBBISH..the hoops us consumers have to go through in order to exert our statutory rights - ..the powers that be need to be aware that it isnt just "the odd" on line order - it's over 50%...that's a lot of hassle, time and money :mad::mad:..)

Talk about Consumer HELL...I think I am going to write a book

Anyhow - rant over - off to cuddle a piggie and become more humanoid again

Hugs to all - and for sheer entertainment, please read Henpecked1's "the Dead Dog thread" on "House buying/renting/selling board" - it's the best thread since Zinc Oxide took on Crapital One two years ago :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
And even [STRIKE]made[/STRIKE] fooled it's way onto last weeks Money moral dilemma on MSE email ....... absolute CLASSIC :rotfl::rotfl:. Read and enjoy

For me that will always be the best thread ever ... Unless a funnier one pops up ... But I think they would have to go a long way to be funnier than that one lol

I guess Zinc Oxide will always be the tops - because it was so close to us re DCA'sand their tactics.

But have to say Hepecked's english and style of writing is pretty damn good/funny....and serously can't believe Martin/MSe was sucked in :rotfl::rotfl:. I know August is silly season BUT :T

PIggies have voluteered their spare inco pads to Auntie Nargle :rotfl::rotfl: :rotfl:
