Hi Poles & Sessie - yup it's very easy to just think I'm on my hols and what does it matter but then the credit card bites you on the bum on your return :D

Just had a brilliant day. BF borrowed 2 kayaks of a friend and we spent the afternoon on a lovely river near home. I've never done it before and although I can swim I didn't envy falling head first into the river but I survived and my arms now feel like popeyes. It also cost nothing.

Back to work tmw but I'm only in 3 days and that's me done:T

I'm making bolognese now so better make sure it's not burnt.

  • Hi All

only 1 day to go and I'm on my hols :j

Yesterday was quite a productive day, I managed to get my hedge and lane strimmed. It is a big job as i live in the country and my hedges border fields so they're a bit of a nightmare. However finally done and I have a nice red nose for my efforts. It's been lovely and sunny the last 2 days overhere.

Today I went for a run (bit late now for bikini) and my cousin phoned and asked me to go with her to a Pilates class. The last time I went to pilates was a class in work and I found it really boring. However I went with her to a different gym and I got more than I bargained for:) I have a very strong suspicion that I will have to roll out onto the floor tmw to get out of bed.:rotfl: . Will defo be going back when I come back from my hols.

Went to weightwatchers tonight and ...confession time I put on 1/2lb :o, which isn't so bad but i have a fortnight of eating out and enjoying myself to look forward to and it's amazing how much damage I can do to my waist line in a short space of time:eek:

On payment front £100 to Barclaycard (reduced payment to cover holiday spends). £143 to car loan (standard payment) and £100 to windows. So total payment £343. Aim to increase this next month. Concentrating on getting shot of Barclaycard and will then start whittling away at window loan.

Thats me for tonight. hope everyone has had a good day.

Thanks BOB it feels like it's been a long time coming round. So ready for a break and when we get back we're straight into halloween and Xmas:D

No work today:j, so morning plans are firstly go for a run and then decide on plans for today. Need to pop to shops as i have to buy some zovirax. I suffer regularly from coldsores, I get them if its cold or if its hot, so pretty regular then:) Can feel one tingling from sun yesterday so want to kill it before I go on hols.

Oh confession time. I bought this gorgeous handbag from Wallis yesterday.:o In my defence I had been stalking it for a while (lifting it of the shelf and hugging it - you know the usual:D) and then yesterday I saw a 10% off voucher & free delivery on MSE and will power crumbled.

    So plans for today -

    Run
    Pop to shops
Put on at least 3 loads of washing
    Tackle ironing pile
Go to beauticians for waxing (if you hear screams it's only me:eek:)
    Start packing!!!!

    Have a good day everyone

    Evening everyone,

Not too bad today. Not perfect bought a new bra for my hols. Went into posh shop for proper measurement and she tried to flog me a bra at 58 quid so went to good old M&S.

I also took my mum out for lunch so not really MSE but she gets to brag she was out somewhere nice.

Spends - 5.99 zovirax, 14 quid bra, and 17.90 for lunch.

having my usual Friday night pizza and just sitting in, relaxing, dreaming of my hol :D

    Morning

    Right todays plans are -

Run - meeting 73 year old running buddy in 1 hr
Pack - need to be able to close lid of case:rotfl:
Tidy house - want house to at least appear clean :) before I go.

Tmw I have a christening party to go to so really need to get everything done today. On the positive front it should be a NSD today as I really don't need anything and won't be near the shops.

    Right todays plans are -

[STRIKE]Run - meeting 73 year old running buddy in 1 hr[/STRIKE] Ran 5 1/2 miles and loved it all. He says we're up to 7 when I get back from hols - gulp - knee much stronger so getting there.
[STRIKE]Pack - need to be able to close lid of case[/STRIKE]:rotfl:- done but I'm sure that I've forgotten something
    [STRIKE]Tidy house [/STRIKE]- done:T

Managed an NSD yesterday and apart from this mornings spend it should be a Very low spend today.
    Points - pretty good yesterday Porridge (2), potato bread & beans (5). Pizza (guessing 10) = 17.

BF bought a wee boat yesterday so that will be some fun when we come back from hols. I wish I had his money sense. He's wanted it for ages but didn't have the money so after 2 years saving he bought it.

Anyway, that's my update for a few weeks and I will be back in a fortnight all red and freckly. Happy money saving while I'm away everyone.

That handbag is lovely. I've just bought myself a red bag. I get bored of handbags very easily so tend not to spend too much on them.

Have a lovely holiday. Sounds like the running is going really well. I can't wait to get back into it when I go back to work.

I hope you didn't feel too sore after the Pilates class. First time I did it i couldn't believe how sore I was the next day - even my fingers hurt!
It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :j
    Happiness is not a destination - it's a journey :)
  • Hi everyone I'm back ,

I would love to say I'm brown and gorgeous but nope I'm just a bit more freckly. Of course BF has a gorgeous tan.... no fair.

Holiday was great. It was a mixture of relaxing and hiking. We went to Turkey and it was so hot (which I love). On the 2nd day we went out on a boat. I jumped of the boat with my snorkel as graceful as a wee hippo :) and my bikini top went ping and I emerged with the top hanging of me  . I couldn't get the stupid thing tied to so had to cling to the swimming ladder trying to look relaxed and discreetly yell at BF to help me :o:o:o while trying not to attract anyone else's attention. Oh he thought it was hilarious:o

We went into a local market and the food was amazing, so much fresh fruit and veg and so cheap.

    So now I'm back.....

Had a biiigggg discussion with BF. I hate any serious discussion or any confrontation but on our hols I basically in a round about way asked what his future plans were. We've been dating for 3 years and he's never discussed the future. He's always so stressed about work and other stuff that i feel I would be putting pressure on him but it was beginning to bug me.

Anyhow after regaining some colour he asked me what I wanted and was it commitment I was after? (Drrrrr 3 years dating i thought that entitled me to something). He also asked if I was after a ring? i was totally honest and said that yes, I loved him so why not. He hasn't proposed but he did say he loved me and wanted a future with me but he won't be buying me a big rock only a small one:T. So what that means is I need to get my butt into gear and get my debts cleared and start saving for [STRIKE]a wedding[/STRIKE] our future.

So these are my new resolutions -
    • Clear Barclaycard
    • Set up 3 savings accounts - Pot 1 - Xmas, car, B'days; Pot 2 - Holiday fund ; Pot 3 - Future.
    • Challenges - NSD and Weekly spend
    • Lose 1/2 stone
    • Plan dinner menu weekly; mum now joining me on WW
    • Jam jar system (same as envelope but prefer jam jar)
    • Keep my thread updated!!!!!!

Hopefully my list of resolutions will keep me focused. BF will probably let things drift but as I have no money I will at last be prepared when my lucky bag ring finally turns up.

Also returned home to find a wedding invitation to his niece's wedding in November so will have to buy a frock. I finally get my salary increase and arrears next month so will use some money from that but am loath to spend any money as I have finally got some motivation not to spend.

Ok diaryland my plans for today are:
    • sort out how much i need to save and what I can afford to save;
    • increase payments to B'card
    • start on pile of ironing (too much to do in one day)
    • sort out house (I think a bomb must have exploded while I was away
    • move summer clothes into big storage box (it feels like we've skipped autumn)

I won't get all of these done but it's a start.

Sorry for big long post but need diary to kick me up behind with my plans:rotfl:
