    Morning all

    I'm heading into work a bit later as it should be a pretty easy day and hopefully I should be out of work by 2. This doesn't always happen - it depends on my bosses mood. Fingers crossed he's in a good mood:D

    i will have a look at purse and bank statement later and see how I'm getting on with my spends.

    Still to buy -
    • wreath
    • yorkshire puddings & horseradish sauce
    • spare box of chocs for that unexpected present
    • wine, wine, wine

    Speak to you later

  • Morning all

    I had a fantastic Xmas and I have to gear myself up for another Xmas dinner today. It's a hard life:D

    Santa was very good to me this year and has given me some Debenhams vouchers which will help when I'm trying to stick to my #150 clothing challenge in 2011. My BF bought me a dress in Next which I hinted at and hinted at. I now see it in the sale for 15 quid and I'm so tempted to take this back and exchange it but he's taken the label off. What to do? It's a gift but I could also have the dress and 20 quid in my pocket :D. I'm not even sure if they will take it back but I have found the receipt.

    I'm determined to start the new year being frugal and not a fritterer and I'm doing ok. I still have money in the bank and money in my purse. I'm challenging myself to see how far I can make it into the new year without touching my salary.

    Today I have to assist Mum in making a humongous roast dinner for my brothers, wives, kids etc. I have no idea where I'm going to put them. Our table only holds 6. I need to have a think about that one.

    Ok money update

    Purse - 52.36
    Bank - 65.44 (46.40 of this is a refund which I intend to use towards credit card but might have nosy in sales first:D).

  • Oh I feel like a pudding:D. 2 massive Xmas dinners and now I feel like a detox:D. Xmas was lovely.

    Today's plans -
    • return dress to Next;
    • can't think of anything else... it's Xmas

    Yesterday's spends -

    £7 on papers & nibbles for Mum's do.

    Purse - £45.36
    Bank - £65.44

    Morning all

    I pootled over to Next yesterday but they couldn't accept my dress as their sale is on and I have to leave it to Wed. I should have known this but I was so eager to return it that I never thought.

    Well as we're gearing up to 2011, I've joined a few challenges -
    • £365 in 365 days;
    • pay off as much as i can in 2011 (aim £6000);
    • my old faithful - weekly shopping challenge;
    • i will join the clothing challenge if it starts;
    • make my own lunch

    That will do me for now:D

    In previous post I was also going to list my plans for 2011 but BF sat down beside me and he doesn't know about this diary.

    So for 2011 my plans are:

    Work
    *I have applied for a new job and will do my best at interview;
    *I will take lunch to work at least 4 days out of 5.

    Home
    * I will not buy any make up/smelly/products in 2011 unless I am completely out
    *I will not buy any magazines in 2011.
    *I will plan a weekly food diary and stick to it

    Play
    * Stick to marathon training plan
    * go to Pilates and Circuits once each week.

    Money
    * Debt free by end July 2011
    * When DF cancel credit cards
    * start saving with a vengeance so I can enjoy life.

    Really sad but I can't wait to start 2011

    That's not oo bad a confession, at least you have cards, paper etc sorted for next year. DD and me make next year's present tags out of this year's cards. Saves us about £10 :T

    Could do with some lemsip myself - I have got a stinking cold and am sat in a freezing office. I wantto be in my warm little house.

    You seem to be doing OK on the spends. Onwards and upwards!
    It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :j
    Happiness is not a destination - it's a journey :)
  • Hi Poles, the tags idea is great - i will take the scissors to this years cards. It always seems such a waste when I just put them in the recycling bin. I hope you and dd had a great Xmas and sorry about the sniffles.

    The weather has been that bad it was only a matter of time before I got the cold. BF has been very good with the kindness and lemsip.

    I made it to Next yesterday and returned dress. The girl immediately put the new ticket on it for £15 but didn't put it out on the shelf. I'm not bothered as I have it on order. I also made it out of shop without buying anything:j - thats not to say i didn't look:D

    Well quick check on spends and I have -

    Purse - £13.68 + £8 in £2 coins which need to go in money pot.

    Spends - £20 on a necklace for my sister's 30th b day present.
    £3.68 on groceries.

    Bank - £265

    I made it to payday without breaking into January's salary - yippee.

    I made it out for my first marathon training run and knee played up. I'm going to keep plodding on and see how my knee is and then make a decision on whether or not I should defer.

    Another challenge to list - I need to lose 1/2 stone. I put on a couple over Xmas and want to lose a bit extra to have a comfort zone.

    have a good day everyone.
