    Evening all:wave:

    I ventured out in the snow today, it was so lovely. cold very cold.

    Today's spends - £1.50 on paper and that's it :T I might not be able to claim an NSD but at least it's a low spend day.

    The weather forecast has just given out a warning of more heavy snow overnight. I'm going to be sitting on top of the fire at this rate. BF is nearly out of oil and there isn't a hope of getting a delivery until this snow clears. He has loads of logs and coal so we won't freeze.

    I love the snow but I wish it would just go away. Tomorrow could be my first ever snow day. I will see how it goes. Could spend tomorrow building a snowman. :snow_grin

  • I made it into work ..boo. it took me 2 hours on the motorway (usually 40 mins at most) and I just chugged along in the slow lane with all the other traffice

    I supposed to be meeting a friend for breakfast but she hasn't made it in yet. This could be good on the spending front but I shall wait and see.

    Hope everyone else is coping with the snow.

    Spends today

    £10 - gym membership (this is for the year and I use it)
    £11.49 - Mum's shopping (Mum hasn't managed to get to shops since the snow began and I've been doing her shopping and my Uncles. I've not asked for any money so far but I think it's time that I did).

    Not feeling the best. I've picked up a tummy bug but hopefully it should be out of the way before Xmas.

    Taking family to see Santa tomorrow and that will Christmas properly on us:D

  • Morning all

    Battled the snow demons this morning and me and my faithful rustbucket made it to work :D

    I got paid early today woop woop but for the first time in the history of my money frittering I'm not touching that money until I'm officailly allowed to. (If this wasn't Xmas then the money wouldn't be in my account until 29 Dec.) Well that's the plan. Each year I try to do this and by the end of January I'm well into my overdraft.

    So at the minute I have:
    • £71.86 in my purse;
    • £72.53 in my bank.
    • Total = £144.39
    I should have another £48 going into my bank as I returned a dress and trousers by post when I finally wised up to my money spending again. if this money appears I will put it towards my credit card.

    I have a few spends this week which are a must -
    • £10 sticks for fire (can't get to usual people who are cheaper because of snow);
    • £10 contribution to bosses present;
    • £5-£10 a wreath for my dad's grave.
    Hopefully today will be an NSD but going to see Santa tonight which is booked and paid for but you never know what crafty device he will use to pursuade me to spend money. :D

    I have battled in today and it hasn't been too bad. Just hope we don't get another load tonight!

    I too got paid (early) today and am now back in the black. It is a nice feeling. I had a lot of expense over the last couple of weeks like After School Club fees. I am hoping that over the next week or so I shouldn't have to spend too much money.

    Careful about Santa Claus - if it's anything like our Winter Wonderland there will be plenty more money traps for you to avoid :eek:

  • Hi Poles, good to see you :D. Will have to pop over to your diary. You were so right on the santa money trap. It was really really good and they gave you shortbread, alcohol free mulled wine as all part of the entry fee. But.... as we were leaving there was a sleigh for the kids to have their picture taken on. It looked fantastic but it was £20:eek: really for 1 picture. That's madness. My 2 nephews were marched past it soo quickly I don't think they even saw it.:D

    I did have a spend today which I shouldn't have done but it was so worth it. A friend ordered a sleigh which they didn't need so they offered it to me. (you can't buy them for love nor money at the minute) It was £9.99 but as the snow is to last for at least another week, I think it's money well spent. Especially as the kids schools are closed and it will give my mum a break. See that's my problem - I can justify any spend.:o

    ok it's minus 15. my fingers are freezing. It will be warmer in bed

    Have done well today. CD from Nephew, wee cheap and cheerful CD player from Mum (old one broke courtesy of nephews), lovely top from sister. BFs pressie is under his tree so won't have it until friday - boo. My brothers all turn up on Xmas day with wine for me :T and my other sister will fly in in the New Year with a pressie too. It's not so bad having a birthday at Xmas.

    Plans for tomorrow mainly involve relaxing. I've been out and about most days/nights for the past week and tomorrow apart from work and a beauticians appointment I have the day to myself. Friday is a big day of cleaning, shopping and panicking, so I need to keep my energy for that.
