Take the money and run into rented ? At least then you can have a good look around without feeling rushed into buying something.0

That is certainly an option which I think we'll have to consider if we can't find anything. It wouldn't be a major disaster, obviously we'd prefer to buy straight away but we don't want to buy something just for the sake of it. I think I'm just going to sulk for the weekend and then have another good look at our options on Monday. My sig's too large, apparently - so apologies to whoever's space I was taking up.:lipsrseal0 -
Mrs_Arkwright wrote:Well a little update. We have lost our lovely dream house, the seller has pulled out, it is his second sale that has fallen through on this property. The reason we are being given is that he has split up with his girlfriend and lost his job, but we are reluctant to believe that all that happened overnight. We paid for the valuation Tuesday, they did it yesterday, and he pulled out this morning, so we have also lost our valuation fee of over £300. We are really very cheesed off.
I feel so sorry for you, i really do. One thing is falling in love with a house, and yes loosing it is gutting in itself, but then when you have financial connections as well, that makes it so much worse as its now at the point that its costing you for sellers to have a "change of heart".
I hear of this often, and when survyors have been paid and instructed i think it is disgraceful that sellers can just pull their house from the market - everything cancelled - poor old buyer out of pocket.
Of course, in circumstances when its really genuine then we cant really mock them, but i know of people that just get a "change of heart" as stated, and do not consider the consquences.
All i can hope is that you find something better so that in the long run you can summarise that the seller that pulled it from the market, did you a favour.

If its meant to be its meant to be - we lost out on several houses when we were looking, and we eventually found our dream house that ticked all of our boxes. Im a great believer in fate - something better is around the corner..0

Bummer !! :-(0 -
You will look back on this one day and it will be in the past. It won't always be like this and you will find another house. Please hang in there - I too believe in fate and what isn't meant to be.... I bet you are back on here soon saying that you have found another house and its better than the last one. I know so many people who have said the same - it happened to us too when we first bought our house. Good luck xx0

Well we went to view a house today which we're going to put an offer in for tomorrow - it's nowhere near as good as the original house, but it is ten grand cheaper, and we think it will be OK. It will resell quite easily if necessary, it's a popular style house in a good area of the town. Let's just hope we don't get dumped on again. My sig's too large, apparently - so apologies to whoever's space I was taking up.:lipsrseal0
