Don't let my cool, calm exterior fool you - I have had my stressy moments, believe me!

Well - the house is ours!

We made an offer on the spot which was turned down, so we had to go up to just under asking price, but we don't mind, it's the perfect house for us, doesn't need any work at all doing, not even a lick of paint. It's perfect, and we're so excited! Let's just hope nothing goes wrong with our buyers now

  • brilliant news for you! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.
  • Well, our mortgage was officially applied for today (already had the agreement in principle but forms were signed etc) - had to wait for the mortgage guy to come back off holiday - how inconsiderate of him!

Went to see the house again yesterday, took the kids this time who are really excited about having their own rooms.

Our buyers are coming to look again at ours on Saturday - I'm a bit worried as we haven't heard anything about when their valuers are coming yet - how long does that usually take? I'm hoping that they're not coming to look again because they're having second thoughts :o

Feeling a bit in limbo now. Mortgage guy says it could take up to three weeks for the mortgage to be sorted, so I guess I just have to sit back and wait now.

Hi Mrs Arkright, we also accepted an offer on our place last week and have now sold STC! However, the buyer has only viewed it once and has not yet requested to view it again. We think that this is very unusual- how many times has your buyer viewed your property?

Only the once so far, when they made the offer - they are coming for a second look on Saturday, but the estate agent assures us that everything is OK - I'm just a bit nervous!

  • Well a little update. We have lost our lovely dream house, the seller has pulled out, it is his second sale that has fallen through on this property. The reason we are being given is that he has split up with his girlfriend and lost his job, but we are reluctant to believe that all that happened overnight. We paid for the valuation Tuesday, they did it yesterday, and he pulled out this morning, so we have also lost our valuation fee of over £300. We are really very cheesed off.

Oh no Mrs A, sorry to hear your news. Any other houses that appeal?

No, nothing at all at the moment. A bit worried now in case we don't find anything quickly and our buyers decide they can't wait.
