Just run Sky up as we are on a serious moneysaving drive...
Currently have their full entertainment package with sport and movies for £52.00 Broadband and talk for £19.75.
Tried to haggle down the price even went through to retentions who said we have no offers on our account and the only thing we can do if strip out the movies and sport reducing the TV to £24.50.
Great!!!
As we are on a money saving mission we are not going out, so telling my husband that he cant watch his beloved football match he will then have to go to the pub to watch it, which would mean more money...
Rubbish :mad:Hoping they ring me back now and give me a better offer, if not think I will just use freeview instead I think its become a major rip off and at the minute not got the spare £70 a month so will just pay £20 for broadband instead.

I just called to cancel sports and movies as I normally only watch cricket on the sports and there isn't any until next year now. Offered £10.40 off for 6 months to keep them which probably saves more than I would have saved by dropping them for a month once my notice period runs out
Not as good as the 25% off for a year others are getting but not going to pass up a discount0 -

Very true. I had a tenner of the sports over the summer as I'm the opposite to you with mainly watching football. That only expired at the end of September so probably meant I wasn't eligible for the full year.
Every penny helps though0 -

Ditto, and not even a tie in... Good enough for me! :beer:0 -
We cancelled a few weeks ago and I got an email today to say 'Sorry you're leaving, call us if we can do anything" - so I called.
I've been offered the current Entertainment Extra package for £20.50 (no discount), HD pack for £5.12 (half price) and Multiroom for £5.12 (half price) for 12 months.
This reduces my monthly cost from £40.50 to £30.75, which is around 25% off the whole package for a year.
The equivenant deal for a new customer signing up at the full rate is £45.50. With Quidco, there is around £100 cashback, with another £100 M&S vouchers from Sky. This brings the monthly cost to around £28.80 - only £1ish difference in renewing and re-signing as a new customer...
I've not confirmed it yet, but wanted to see if anyone else is getting a similar or better offer at the moment?0 -
I have a standard v+ hd box with virgin, if I cancel my tv subscription do I get to keep the box and will I be able to use it as freeview and still record programmes?0

I called Virgin this evening and no joy from the sales team.... Spoke to a "manager"..... Still no joy..... Wouldn't budge even after saying my friend had took it up a few hours before0
