Different surname and/or different address. Probably yes.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
I've tried to have a look but I can only see offers for new customers. I was horrified to see my sister is paying nearly £90 a month on sky. I thought if you had tv and broadband you got the internet and sky talk for free or at least at a reduced rate. I've had a look at her account for her cos she's clueless with haggling the price down etc. She is paying £55.00 sky tv (entertainment pack with sports HD), sky broadband £7.50 and Sky Talk freetime (she has her line rental with Sky as well). I would have thought if she had all this she would have at least got sky talk unlimited for free. I am sure in the past they have offered me a reduced rate if I take all their packages.0

I too saw the VM deals for a Tivo box, new customers on the package I want get free install and no activation fee, existing customers have to pay an install fee of £50 in whihc an engineer spends 20 mins unplugging the old box and plugging the new one in. I'm going to try the disconections people tomorrow and see if they will play nicely, lose £0 or £300+ a year?claretmatt wrote: »If a virgin contract in oh's name was cancelled and then restarted in my name would I be classed as a new customer?
I asked in my VM shop about cancelling current contract and giving 30 days notice and becoming a new customer. The only way you can be a new customer at same address is under a new name, ie partner/housemate, if you want a new contract in your name at your
address then you have to wait 3 months.
I want a Tivo box but don't want to pay £50 for the engineer:(0 -

I have telephone & broadband with VM. |Was think of taking out a basic tv pack with sports pagakage & 500gb Tivo. Did not expect the installation charge.
I will see what they say as I already have the cabling from the previous box. I should be able to connect the "F" connector, power cord & HDMI lead to the TV !!!!0 -
