I have sky broadband and it is awful - keeps cutting out, but am contracted to January. Has anyone successfully cancelled their contract early without paying a fee?
Cancel on the grounds of a price rise within 30 days of notification = no fee .
Cancel on the grounds of service only if your ISP agrees .
Unlikely to do that without proper testing as so many problems may have nothing to do with the service provider .0 -
Put in the Sky TV cancellation request on Friday evening.
Got a phone call on Monday from cancellations and went for £50 cashback, 50% off any TV package for 12 months (gone with the Family package) and also a rolling contract so I can leave anytime.
I plan to leave when I get my £125 for introducing a friend. Takes about 45 days.0 -
Out of contract with Sky. Have been on Variety pack bundle at £16.50/month for 10 months but that has now finished so gone up to £26.50/month.
Used online chat this morning. Spoke to 2 advisors. First only offered me 25% off so asked to cancel (said he couldn't as systems were down ). So went back online and went through to cancellations (hoping I'd get offered something better). After nearly 2 hours sweat still only got offered 25% so proceeded with the cancellation (still hoping I might get something ....) Got offered NOTHING.
So, SKY goes off in 1 months time...... Not told the missus yet _pale_.
Let's see what happens now ..0 -
Good afternoon,
I spent 1.5 hours on live chat trying to negotiate a better deal on my sky as they want to now put it up to £80 a month. We have the full HD package but no broadband or phone. The advisor would only offer me 25% off so I said i would cancel. I have just received an offer for 50% off my sky tv through the app on my phone. Do you think i should take it or wait for a better offer. Would this be 50% off the whole lot or not the HD and sky sport HD?
Many thanks in advance for any help0 -

I've just cancelled this morning as the best they could give me was 25% off.
Have since been offered 35% via Sky Service App. I'd be happy with 50% off. If I were you I'd accept it before it vanishes.0 -

Hmmm.
For some reason, after I got a retention deal with movies added on, they are not billing me for it. I can watch them and download them on demand etc but if I use the Sky+ app it says I need to upgrade.
I wonder how long it will be before they notice.0 -
Being made redundant soon. Rang Virgin to discuss bringing down prices or getting a discount. The way they present it they can put me on a different cheaper package but it will be a 18 month contract. I don't want to be fixed in a long term contract in case I don't find another job. Is there a best way, different contact number etc to use?
Have noticed they are giving good deals for new customers. How long do I have to wait after cancelling to qualify as a new customer?
Have noticed there is an app for sky customers. Is there one for Virgin?
Got telephone line, tv xl with Asian channels and internet. Want to keep internet and Asian channels.0 -

If you want the cheapest deals,it comes with a new contract.
You maybe able to haggle a lesser discount without contract.0 -
