Just a quick question. If I phone virgin to cancel does it take 30 days to take effect?
I'm on an appalling deal and need to get a much better one. (Don't necessarily want to leave them)0 -
Spent an hour on live chat with a sky "retentions expert" to get myself £2 a month off. Told them to cancel0

Our Sky contract is due for renewal. We got a goodish deal last year but this year they won't budge. My OH tried to negotiate and believe me he can argue the back leg off a donkey. He tried the retentions people but they insisted there are no deals.
When OH threatened to cancel they didn't seem to care and told him to go ahead.
Reading the other posts it seems if we want to keep Sky we should cancel, let them cut us off and hope they offer us a deal to come back. Our contract is now monthly so it won't be a problem.
We have loads of programmes on the Sky box, if we cancel, they cut us off and we then renew, will be still be able to access them?
Any other useful tips appreciated0 -
Do the offers of discount appear during notice period? I'm only seeing offers to add multi room since putting in my notice.0

I had a call the day after I gave notice... and there was 35% showing on my offers online... That changed to 50% immediately at cut off. And then I negotiated on the livechat to 60%.0 -

Yes, provided you have the same package(s).0 -
Just chatting to the sky person online, after 55mins of chat they went from 50% to 60% off..
Now pushing for account credit (£120) and 1/2 price Multiroom, plus installation0 -
On a rolling contract with standard TV package, no sports, movies or HD; broadband and line rental.
Currently paying £42.10 but had a call from sky today offering half price TV then £50 credit.
It would have taken my bill to £38. Needless to say I rejected this.
Will be a virgin new customer deal via cashback site unless I get a further offer.0 -

Stuck at 60%, with full price Multi-Room with the usual speel of free box, free installation etc. No account credit. Will keep pushing.
Ironically, Multi-Room has free installation, and a free box otherwise what is the point....you cant watch anything... #FMAOLOL0 -

I had...
Sky Family HD
Sky Movies SD
Sky Sports SD
Sky F1 SD
Free BB for 12 months
£35.00 per month, 12 month contract.
I would consider splitting the phone and TV to see what happens. Luckily enough I have 12 months free line rental from last dec.0
