Thank you in advance, hope this makes sense!
No I cancelled the TV only last July and kept my BB and Line Rental at the time as I was on a free Line Rental deal.
I was offered 50% off TV which I accepted.0 -

Went onto the online chat the other day (couldnt get through on the phone) to "cancel" my subscription. Family pack with HD and sports none HD, was costing over £40 plus a month.
Anyway thought that I would just put the wheels in motion and do the usual 30 days cancel thing and was offered the usual 10 percent off. Told the agent that I felt insulted at that offer, straight away offrered 20 percent and said no proceed with the cancellation.
Anyway after a few minutes saying I would go to pub to watch sports and would like the sports in HD if I could afford it together with my love for movies they came back with a 50 percent discount on the total package with HD for £5 more, my choice or not. So instead of £75 plus a month it works out at £35 a month give or take a few pennies. This was for a year as well.
Cant believe that this was offered without the usual hassle of having to cancel then wait for offers from retentions. Told my friend who just joined sky on 25 percent discount and he rung them (still in his cooling off period) and got 50 percent too.Old Faithful we roam the range together,
Old Faithful in any kind of weather,
When the round up days are over,
And the Boulevard’s white with clover,
For you old faithful pal of mine.0 -

Strangely though I've only received an email to confirm cancellation of my Broadband/phone and no mention of the TV - is that right?
I received the same. Confirmation of broadband and phone but no mention of the TV, so I guess its the right thing.
I currently pay around £60pm for my package. I wanted to try and get it dropped significantly like some of you have managed.
I was offered a £10 pm discount (for 10 months only) on my talk/line rental deal. I refused and started cancellation talk in the hope a better deal may appear and unfortunately that was that. Guess I keep logging in to my account and see if anything better appears.0 -
Called Sky to get a reduction as I was on Variety (with channels I rarely watch) with Half Price Multi room £43.87
They said I could get a £15 credit on my account for 10 months so I reduced down to Original with HD and still half price multi room now pay £22.37 with Sky Go Extra. Contemplating taking the HD off as it would then reduce to £12.120 -
I was switched off last October and will not go back at any cost as now I dont have TV licence anyway the best I have been offered through email is 60% off tv for 12 months and £100 credit just before Christmas.0

My cancellation period ends today and I expect to be cut off this evening.
The best I've had offered is 35% off 12months via both a snail mail and on MySky.
I'd much rather stay but doesn't look like they'll budge until the service is cut off at least.
Any suggestions?0 -
Hi,
What's the current best number to call to haggle please, or can the online chat be just as good ? Sorted out a really good deal last time but due to a bereavement forgot all about it coming to an end and it shot up to £70 + last month so need to re-sort a deal
Thx0 -
Update to post 7043. As others have said, 35% off TV package for 12 months appeared on My Sky a couple of hours after asking to cancel. Missed a few calls from Retention but was in and answered a call today. Offered 35% off for 10 months. Politely said what My Sky was showing was better but not enough to tempt me. After "speaking with my manager" i was offered 50% off TV and 35% off HD, £37.16 for ten months. I then asked if it would be possible to have that deal for 12 months and was advised i can. I am pleased with this outcome, a saving of £409 for the year. I appreciate that some folk will think i could have done better by waiting until after the cancellation date but i am happy it is sorted at a price i find acceptable and off my radar now.
My advice to others would be to think about what is an acceptable deal for you personally and politely ask if it is available when you speak with Retentions.0 -
