But I am prepared to go through and use the sky box for freeview only.
Problem is the rest of the family may revolt
Just be aware you don't get the same channels as you would on Freeview.0 -
Extra £19, so £33 in total. Now paying £22 doing over the phone.
Very odd!
I have a 50% discount on my TV package which is currently the Family Pack at £16.50pm. If I add on Movies the monthly cost changes to £24.75 so it is giving me my 50% discount on the Movies which it does show as £16.50.
Adding on the HD pack for the Movies stays at £5.25pm as I expected as the HD pack is never discounted.
Total for Family Pack & Movies HD would be £30pm.
So what package did you have with what discount as I can't work out why it would have been an extra £19pm for Movies.0 -
Yeah, the plan is to save up for a Freesat HD box, but the Humax programme guide was cr*p last time I looked at it, and setting the system up so that I can use the one box but watch it in one of two rooms (lounge or bedroom) looks like a real faff.
It's improved with the Freetime, the original we have upstairs is very basic.

But you are right it's not $ky, but I quite like it. I love how you just scroll back the dates and it lists all the on demand stuff from that day and you just select them and play.
We just have 2 boxes (one freetime one original) so can't help with Freesat distribution.0 -
So, do I call them ?
I just have this thought that, if I call them, they will know I am keen to come back, so the offers won't be so good. Do I wait for them to call me ?
Sky now been off for a fortnight now, and the peasants are revolting... how long to I need to stay strong for ?
first leave them alone and wait for them to get back to you. If they dont call for a while (maybe leave at least 1 week or 2) then call them up and tell them you received a missed call from sky so would like to ask why did you get called and that way you will be able to keep the ball rolling. Its more about chatting and negotiating. But in general as far as i know everyone gets a call back. Ive been with sky just a year and they fussed with me, this will be my 2nd year...0 -
I was offered 35% off when I cancelled, and I have had one phone call from them offering me a fabulous deal to reward my loyalty - 35% off again - which I declined.
I wonder what their next offer will be?0 -
Why the sarcasm on a perfectly good offer.
Off course you can hold out for more.
Try getting 35% of your next litre of petrol at the garage or most things in this world.0 -
Just had a successful, if lengthy, renegotiation of my 50% off TV offer, which was due to end in January.
I went onto live chat to tender my cancellation. Was offered 35% off, which I rejected.
After about an hour, reviewing viewing habits etc, I was offered 50% off TV and line rental for £9.99(my broadband is already free for 12 months). I was told the offer would last for 10 months. OK not the 12 months of the previous offer but still a very good deal. I thought "I'll 'ave that."
I gave my agreement, to the offer but was only, then told, that it would be a 12 month contract - so full price for the last 2 months. A bit sneaky, I thought, not mentioning the contract term 'til right at the last moment. I wasn't happy.
I asked for a manager but somehow got cut off live chat, and didn't get any subsequent contact. Not happy, again
Tried live chat, again, today. Took 2 hours but eventually got the deal I was happy with: 12 months of half price TV and line rental for £9.99 per month, over the same term.
I know I'm locked into a contract but what do you expect, with that offer?
Moral of the story is: be very patient, and you might, just, get a good deal0 -
Hmm, seems after 14 years I'm off then.
Cancelled, only got offered the £9.99 line rental deal. Not even 33%. So I cancelled. Kind of need a 50% discount to keep it affordable right now...
Will wait a bit until I buy a freesat box, just in case they care to entice me back.
As a matter of interest I have seen some people mention "I had an offer of x% on my account through mysky". Where abouts does such an offer present itself, upgrade/offers?0 -

You haven't just cancelled your broadband without asking someone else to take over have you or you will probably get a cease charge ?
I didn't get any offers online; just a message saying they couldn't offer any, so call them.0
