IMHO you should sit tight... I was in the exact same situation as you and was worried then all of a sudden one day the banner on their website changed to offer 50% off and I received three 50% off mailings from them in a month.

Thank you, it's not yet been a month so will hang on a little longer....

When I negotiated my come back deal, I decided not to have multiroom again. We have since changed our minds, so today I used livechat, got offered moves for £3pm for 3mths, £8 thereafter (we have Sport already). She couldnt give me a price for switching our second box back on, only a price for a new box, which I think was £49 +£65 install.

So I rang sky, reactivated existing second box from today for standard price. I didn't ask for a discount, because straightaway he offered a new wifi box for zero cost, zero installation, and they would also move it to a new position (we wanted that as we have had tel sockets moved recently by BT Openreach when they came to install fibre bb). I thought that was a great deal.

Finally got a decent offer from Sky and went with it. I got BB unlimited + line rental + original TV bundle for £33.50 a month.

Pretty happy with that. Not as good as some people have got, but I'm ok with it.

Update! I realised that with 50% off the TV, the BB was actually £23.50, so I could get it cheaper with Plusnet.
I called again, spoke to lovely lady in cancellations, and now I'm getting BB unlimited + line rental + Tv original bundle for £27.50. :)

Finally got a call back today. Without having to haggle was offered 60% off my tv package. Hd sports and family package and a 50 pound credit. Very happy with that.

Wow. Brilliant offer. Congrats on holding your nerve and sitting tight.

Sky will now have you pegged as customer who plays hardball and will go through with a cancellation. Let us know what happens next year.

Managed to get 50% off TV, free broadband and a reduction in line rental for a year. They also provided a new remote control, as the existing one is falling apart.

That was without actually cancelling, but negotiation.

I said no. Then (and I'm not making this up) offered me all of everything Sky, free, for six months. So Sky Movies, Sport, the lot. Not HD though, I didn't want to risk asking for more.

That's the same as 50% off for the whole year. Same deal, just marketed slightly differently.

No, it most certainly isn’t the same deal.

    Free is free.

After five months of free Sky TV, dfurn can give Sky 31 days notice of cancellation for the TV subscription and then, after enjoying his sixth free month, seek a new Sky TV deal for a year at, for example, a discount of 50%.

That would be the equivalent of 25% off for the whole year, with a further six months to come at 50% off.

I think you'll find that dfurn was offered everything for free for six months in return for a 12 month contract - not a 6 month one, as you have implied.

The second 6 months would be charged at, I imagine, full price so the deals is, effectively, as davehills has stated, 50% off for the full year.

I've never heard of Sky offering a contract for less than 12 months.

If the deals is as you make out, Sky wouldn't be in business as long as they have.

I got 50% off for 12 months plus a credit for one month so not too bad. I cancelled in April and have been without Sky for about three weeks.
