    Just received this email from Sky titled 'Your Final Cancellation Details'

    Is this the same as the 50% phone call - which I may have missed - and should I call them back hoping they'll give me 50% off?

    No

    do NOT call back asking for 50% off. Let it cancel and try and live without Sky for a few weeks. You can guarantee they will call or send you a letter in a couple of months asking to come back when they realise they havent quite hit their targets.

    Sky just called me. It wasn't retentions but was not offered any discount but movies and sport for 3 months for £10 per month extra. Decided to pass on the offer and was told if I want 50% off like a lot of others here I'd have to try retentions again.

    Hi,

    Maybe you can help/advise.
    I have phoned sky to cancel my digital tv package as I am reaching the end of my 12 month contract in a few days time. My digital tv package (entertainment + & sport) was on a 50% discount thanks to last year MSE voucher.
    I have been told they could not give me any offer yet as my contract ends on the 26th of December. They said, phone on the 27th and we will have probably some offers for you. Is that correct that they are not in a position to give me any offer, or they trying to delay my decision to terminate my subscription?
    I have phoned a few times in the past couple of weeks, and each operator told me the same thing...
    Looking forward hearing your opinion.

  • Literally just had a call from Sky. Note my service doesnt end until 30th Dec

    Guy offered me 35%, contract free. I declined saying it was too expensive, better deal with Virgin lined up or may just use Freeview etc

    He spent about 20mins trying to talk me round

    After I finally got him to accept a 'no', he said "no problem, just to remind you this is a point of offer call, so wont be available via email or post etc".. he also claimed Sky have stopped doing 50% deals

    Let's wait and see...
