Has anyone ever asked or successfully got a discount for more than 12 months in 1 go ?0

I have a loyalty discount from Virgin been on our account for ages (might even be before Virgin took over), I would hate to loose this but even with this feel there might be a better deal out there!0

The best way to check is to post details of how much you pay for what, then the experts on the forum will be able to say if your loyalty discount is worthwhile keeping or is it worth haggling for a better deal0 -
Kite2010, this is a posting I made a few pages back:
I`m wondering if you think we might be able to tweek our Virgin package a little (we have been with them forever - since they were Telewest) and havn`t done anything about out our price for many years.
This is what we currently have:
Talk unlimited
XL TV
Broadband M (upto 20MB)
Loyalty pack for the BB/Phone/TVC)
All this comes to £39.15
Plus the phone line £14.99 - total £54.14 a month
We do not have a Tivo box and are still using a very reliable V+ box. Would like a Tivo box but see you have to pay another £5 a month for the pleasure of this.
Do you think our package is reasonable and would you know if we could get the V+ box changed over to Tivo (but I would prefer not to have to pay extra each month for one).
I would be grateful for any comments as to whether you think we have a reasonable deal (we don`t have any films or sports).
Many thanks0 -
I cancelled my sky on the 5th december this year after being with them for 5 years i had the full package. And to be honest didn't really miss it much as I've been watching on the net, well got a call yesterday from sky saying if i come back before xmas they'll give me my full package for 12 months 50% off for the 12 months, i declined it but they kept saying you'll get this an that but kept declining their offer, he then asked if i was ok to hold for a couple of mins while he spoke to his manager. He came back with a final offer…………..
12 months full package movies, sport etc plus a new 2Tb box (delivered in the new year) all for 75% off for 12 months costing me £16.85 per month.
Plus they've turned my old box back on just need to swap card over when i get my new box.
nice little early xmas prezzie.0 -

There really is no point trying to get deal after deal after deal.
The last bit in bold above is your opinion, which of course you are welcome to but IMHO you are wrong and Sky (and the like) love people with that mindset.
I am on my fourth year of "whatever package you want half price" and when that ends I will do the usual threaten to cancel.... difference is I am willing to go through with it if need be and so if no offer comes then i'll just watch terrestrial tv, no skin off my nose.... I can't see they will risk losing me for the sake of a few quid.A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
Got a phone call from $ky about 18:30 asking why i cancelled, told them why and the deal they offered me was half price on my previous package (ent extra) with a £50 credit so effectively free for 4 months with no tie in.
Almost had me then she mentioned my B/B and phone package (£30 approx per month)and then said the credit includes that too, so it will be free for one month.
After telling her it wasn't really worth it, she agreed and then hung up.
Have had free line rental and half price B/B offers previously and was told it could not happen again unless i cancel the phone and get reconnected as a new customer but will be without a phone line for 2 weeks. Think he was not being truthful so going to try again for another deal soon.0
