is there still a chance sky would come back with an offer.
Unlikely, given your now ruined payment history.
What on earth did you cancel the Direct Debit for? You could have telephoned and explained your difficulty...

BT Vision only offers Sky Sports 1 & 2.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • Hi, I have just phoned Sky Tv to cancel. We have Sports, Movies, HD and have been with them for 15 months. Initially we signed up on 1/2 price for a year but this has now ended and the price has obviously doubled to around £70 a month.
As above, I have just phoned them to tell them I wish to cancel and they have just said ok and placed me on 31 days cancellation.
Problem is that I dont really want to cancel it, just get a better deal.

I'm now in a horrible place as they didn't offer me any deals. I have perfect payment history with then. Will they phone me or contact via post with offers, or is that it?

    Please Help!!

They will phone up a few days before you are due to be switched off and offer you a deal.

I got 50 per cent off when they phoned me.

Do you mean you don't have any email addresses? If so, just make one for free at gmail.com.

Sky Sports with this offer would be ~£21pm, Sky Sports HD with this offer would be ~£26pm (assuming you take the minimum package to get those channels).

Well, after 6 months of various 50% discount offers from Sky I today received in the post a 'special Christmas treat just for you' in the form of a now reduced 25% discount for 12 months offer, gee thanks Sky!! :rotfl:

Well worth going through with cancelling. I'd been offered 20% off TV and £3 for line rental for 12 months along with a new 2TB HD box for £49 and a new router but still cancelled. A week before the cancellation was due to go through I got a call offering 50% off TV. So now have 50% off TV, £3 line rental, new 2TB HD box, router and also got Broadband Unlimited free for 6 months. Bill has gone from £84 to £40.25!!

Just rang up to cancel my Sky TV, Broadband and Phone.

Im currently paying £48.50 for all of this including the Entertainment package.

I was offered 20%ish off taking it to £37, or i could get multi room for the same price as before.

I said no as for the same cost (£48) i can get Virgin premiere, with the same channels, extra V+ Hd box and better internet, and that was that.

Hoping to get an offer form Sky in the coming weeks as im more concerned with lowering the bill than getting more features so fingers crossed :)

First time I've heard someone get an offer similar to mine.
Don't know what package you are on but when I was offered this I was paying £23 a month. So at half price the £50 credit paid for nearly 5 months. I cancelled when the credit ran out so got it for free.
Unless you are on a big package that you want to keep, this will be a better deal than 75% off.
