Sports is always tempting but expensive. I'm happy enough with match of the day in HD0 -

After making various errors on our bill some time ago, Sky offered us a £15 a month reduction for a year as compensation, (which we didn't ask for, but took). This week, they phoned us to offer a special 6 month deal of full sports and movies package for only £14 a month. We were happy as Larry, so said ok. Then, we were going through the boring bit at the end re what our new monthly payment would be, and it seemed our current discount would have to end. So, the '£14 a month special offer' was actually going to cost us £29 a month. All because 'our system won't allow us to give two discounts'. Ludicrous. Why don't these cretins check stuff out before wasting everyones time???? Gutted really, cos we would have loved the footy for the new season. Any ideas anyone, because these numptys keep refering to our original deal as a discount, whereas it's compensation for their error!!??:mad:0

I can see their logic - they paid you compensation by giving you a discount on your future subscriptions. Hence, it's a discount.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

500 Tivo box

You seeme to be on the same as I am/was so should get the same deal. I rang them after being with them about 10 years and paying £50 and that was the offer I got. I had the very old box and they tried at first to charge me £49 installation fee for the tivo box and I refused/said will go to sky then and they decided to install for freeBe thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Hi-I have had sky tv with sports/movies, and phone/BB with virgin(10mb/evenings and w/e phone/medium tv), for several years on deals. Sky was £34.50 and virgin £31 ish.
Sky will now only offer 25% discount, and can get the lot minus movies and kids tv but with same tV package in 2 rooms for £65. Seems best I can get at moment, but sky have previously come back to me on last day of contract with an offer. Will cancel sky today and see what happens.
Anybody got any better recent deals? Dont want ot switch BB to sky despite great price becasue not sure of quality and speed where I live.
