The one I got was from Tescos and it connects using the scart sockets. It has little "eye" things which allow you to also use the sky remote from the room where you are recieving the picture too.

Im very pleased with mine, excellent picture quality.

Argos. Check user reviews before you buy one as there is quite a few too choose from. Ours is AEI wireless videotvsender at £34.99 which works well enough for us.

Had the following package with Virgin and with the price rises next month I would have been paying £83.65 each month.

    Broadband - LARGE
    Phone - MEDIUM
    Tv - XL
    Sky Sports Package
    2 x V+ Boxes
    1 x Standard box

Rang up Virgin a few days back to give notice to cancel services and had a call from retentions today. So I'm still on the same package as previously however the standard virgin box is going to be replaced with a 1TB Tivo (with no install/activation charges).

    Broadband - LARGE
    Phone - MEDIUM
    Tv - XL
    Sky Sports Package
    2 x V+ Boxes
    1 x Tivo (1TB)

However with all the credits applied it's going to cost £63.45 each month (on a 12 month contract). So I've saved £242.40 over the year and had the standard V box swapped for a 1TB Tivo

Also the price of £63.45 each month takes into account the price rises of next month :)

After my half price ran out last month I rang to see if they would keep the discount - no way.
Eventually they offered 25% off - retaining the 2 multiroom 50% off discount.

I declined - i get my Phone/BB from Virgin and have an install for TV booked for 23rd - one day after Sky will switch off.
Virgin offered similar deal to Sky but with new equipment, something Sky wanted to charge for - and my main S+ box is on its way out.....

I have had the "why are you leaving" email, filled it in saying Virgin were offering a deal.
Have had a "thanks for filling in the survey" email too.

Balls in Sky's court now - if they dont call by 22nd I'll have shiny new Virgin stuff the next day.

    I currently have the following:

    TV
    Sky Entertainment Extra
    HD Pack
    1 x Sky+ HD box
    Broadband
    Unlimited
    Phone
    Sky Talk Freetime
    Sky Line Rental
    Total monthly cost £55.28

I called Sky on Monday (5 March) to ask how I cancel (we're well past our initial contracted in period) and he said shall I see if we can do you a deal.

He offered free line rental for 12 months first, I asked if he could do anything more and offered a further £6 off TV for 12 months. Got a third off for a 10 min phone call. Total saving £18 per month :j

Has anyone managed to get more than a 1/3 off?? I wasn't sure how hard to negotiate...

I just got free line rental for 12 months, I'm currently with BT so swapping over will save me about £180 a year.
I tried to call his bluff & say that when my husband phoned the other day they had offered free line rental or 1/2 price for 6 months, he said they have stopped doing half price offers & are just doing free line rental.......not sure how true that is but I'm still saving so I'm happy.

I'm going to ring the wate now to get a water meter......every little helps :)

i have been a loyal customer of sky for 7 years. on the full package with multiroom, hd, sports, movies and broadband.
i have never taken an offer from them in the past, however i phoned up to see what they could do and all they would offer was free line rental for 12 months.
i proceeded to cancel and it all went off yesterday. i filled in the survey they send and i said i liked the services they provide but feel there is no loyalty towards high paying long term customers.
paying £90 a month is a lot in the current climate, but it seems sky dont acknowledge the hardship people are in. we dont get many luxuries so i dont see why we should have to sacrifice channels or packages to save money, especially as ive read here that people on lesser packages are getting upgraded free AND save money!!!!!
absolutely disgusted in sky and i refuse to budge until they make a better offer. if not then ill see what virgin can do

very disapointed in sky, been a customer for 12years and pay 62.50 a month for tv alone! we had the full package with multiroom, no hd. rung today as both the boxes have decided to pack in, the sky+ box downstairs wont record and the old grundig box upstairs wont turn on. the scottish chap at sky offered us hd foc for a year but wanted to charge us 65quid for an engineer to take a look at the current boxes. needless to say the end date has been set and freeview/freesat will be what we use from now on.

normally the retentions team have either discounted service call charges or free service calls if you are threatening to cancel on technical grounds, not sure if they had offered you a new box? Staff cannot offer a free upgrade of box and free service charge as that is classed as offer stacking and is not allowed
