I know the thread is very long, but have you read back a few pages...

To summarise, yes lots of people have had lots of success... You should get 25% discount quite easily by threatening to cancel but not actually handing in notice, or can get 50% discount by handing in your notice and waiting for them to call you.

yes I know , I've done it twice before in the past.
I just wondered if anyone had done it this week...........

  • I called last week and was only offered the 12 months line rental as have been on 1/2 price sky world for the past 12 months, was thinking of calling back when movies and sports removed and asking then to cancel the tv, to see if they will offer the 1/2 price tv offer?

    hi
think i have found a good deal from virgin but just wanted to know if anybody knew if i can get anything better. Simplify digital has offered me the following:
    tv m+
    bb L
    phone line M
The bundle works out £20 per month and Phone line is the standard £13.90
    Its an 18month contract
£100 cash back from simplify digital
    £50 cash back from virgin
They also offered 3 month free for the bundle so i have worked out the following:
    £13.90 x 18(months) = £250.20
    £20 x £15(months) = £300
    total=£550.20
    -£150 cash back
=£400.20 divide by 18month works out to be £22.23 per month.
the activation, installation, box and router are also all free.

has anybody tried the cash back from simplify digital before? And does anybody know of any better deals. Please let me know asap as I am planning to join this evening.

    thanks a lot

    hi
i took out this deal and was wondering if anybody knows how much i can get a second box for or even the tivo box -when i signed up, they said i could get the tivo box for free and just have to pay £3 a month. Does anybody know how much a second box is please? or if i can get the tivo box any cheaper as a new customer?

    Hi

I've been reading this forum for some time now and just thought I'd write to thank you all for sharing your experiences and let you know that there are still 50% discounts available prior to disconnection.

My initial 12 month Contract ended at the end of January and on 12th February I rang cancellations in the hope of a better deal. When asked why I wanted to cancel I said I was looking to reduce my outgoings (who isn't?!) and that Sky TV was, unfortunately, a luxury that we were struggling to afford. To my dismay the lady who took my call did not offer me any reduction and seem more interested in signing me up to their telephone and broadband package - neither of which I currently have with any provider. I explained again that I was looking to reduce my outgoings, not increase them, and when it was obvious she wasn't going to offer anything I reluctantly cancelled my subscription and she confirmed that services would end on March 15th. We have the Entertainment Package with Sky Sports and HD totalling £55.00 per month.

Tonight I received a phone call from Sky offering me 12 months 1/2 price without being tied into a Contract. The price she quoted was £32.50 so I asked her to cancel my HD taking the total monthly cost down to £22.50.

Needless to say I am extremely happy! Thanks again everyone for your advice throughout this forum and thank you to the very nice lady from Sky!

I've just phoned Sky for a better deal, currently pay £80 a month because my 1/2 price for 6 months has ran out.

Did my usual trick of phoning up, threatening to cancel, cut packages etc but she wasn't budging! All she could offer was free line rental for a year, but my line rental is with BT. I'm not sure what to do about line rental with Sky because will Sky repair the line if it goes wrong like BT would?

has anyone else had success haggling down Sky?
This is the second time I've haggled it down so perhaps I've ran out of luck :(

It's BT openreach that sort it all out, from switching over your line rental from BT, had sky line rental for years with no problems ever

Has anyone managed to get Multiroom added to their account either free or less than the £10+ it currently is please, or, will I need to pay the full amount? Many thanks.

not heard of any new customers getting it for less than £10.25 (but could be wrong here), have heard of customers getting deal of £2.50 per month for 6 months, once they out of contract and threaten to cancel - good luck to you, i personally can't wait for my re-contract period to end, took Multiroom so i could get sky+HD box and 1tb for £49 with free installation and will be cancelling the multiroom when it's all over, not worth the money!
  • I rang up today on behalf of my parents, as they was with BT for broadband/calls and was paying a ridiculous amount (£36/month incl line rental).

I got them unlimited calls and broadband plus line rental for £5 for 3 months, then it goes to £12.50 for 9 months and up to £24.75 in a years time. This was with Sky as BT could only offer £20 a month plus line rental, so not even close.

I also asked about reducing their TV bill (they have the all progs but not HD as not interested). Parents were happy to get rid of movies, but that only saved £8. I hung on a bit longer and was ready to give up when they offered 20% off their TV bill for 9 months, and not in a contract, so down to £42 I think it was.

I know the deal isn't as good as before, but my mornings work will save them around £350 this year so I feel I deserve a pat on the back!
