  • I learnt something new today: In our supermarket, I was told by a friendly worker that all the ingredients in the "ethnic" row is a lot cheaper than the other brands elsewhere - e.g. coconut milk - 55p whereas the supermarket brand situated a row away was 1.99. I filled up on stuff I probably don't need today. Resulta.

That's brilliant considering your target was 22K for the whole year, and we're only half way through! You deserve a pat on the back!

  • Twiddy I say "heya youa get offa your cloud" - to mis-quote the Rolling Stones! If you're clearing your mortgage, start a diary. Otherwise, just post away and lurk no more :)

Appreciate you taking the time to respond, I've said before I don't get much feedback on this, as in my mind it's quite a boring thread, me overpaying a chunk every month, and so far, not had any major problems in terms of financial crises (long may it continue!)...

I'll probably make another overpayment tonight, and a decent chunk next week (again a friendly raid on MOM's bank account), so figures will continue to go south. Aiming to get somewhere between 2-3k shifted this month, ideally closer to 3k than 2k.

My diary is the same. I imagine it to be quite boring too. It's just us two and the dog and (un)fortunately not a lot happens! :)
  • And a new month and a new start.
£500 off this month is my opening gambit.
Looking forward to a very peaceful weekend, both me and MOM are completely tired and are grateful there's only 3 weeks to go...

  • Right, have decided on a date to clear our mortgage... Just checking through our dates, but it should be do-able, will be taking the mortgage from 18 years to be paid off in 18 months.
Need to work out the figures, but will post my targets soon.
