  • And my budgetting for this month is over! Have seen a cheap gadget for my camera (second hand) that I'm going to buy. It is expensive new, but this is half price and in mint condition, so I'm buying it, remembering that I'm "saving money long term"... Fingers crossed it'll be worth it :)
But it blows my budget completely out of the water for the rest of April.

  • The camera lens is a beauty though! Well worth it :) Just need to tread carefully for the rest of the month to ensure I don't go overdrawn. Fortunately I explained to my parents why I've got no money this month (I could access the offset mortgage money but don't want to, as it's the principle and a line in the sand that shouldn't be crossed, e.g. money should go into it and not back out of it unless it's a complete emergency) and they've promised to help out near the end of the month should there be any problems. I've happily lent them a few hundred if they've mis budgeted and it's good to see that they're doing the same if the occasion arises.

  • Had a good MFW day. Roped in my parents to help with some DIY and gardening which is free labour ;) Had a lovely lunch with them which is all good stuff and a pleasant day has drifted by. This afternoon (Day 2 of Easter break) has resulted in me having a massive snooze, just the tonic I think. Feeling so much better already after only 2 days away from work. Also have managed quite a few NSD this week, only 1 day of spending which was where I went shopping, got rid of all my old coins at a coin counting place then used that to offset against purchases made.

  • It always makes me laugh when non teachers moan about having to have their children for the holidays, and how exhausting it is, and how our holidays are far too long...we really need that time to recuperate!

  • Amen GFH... Am now feeling almost normal, after having had 3 days of very little, and dozing in the afternoon etc. Amazing how it takes it out of you isn't it. As you say you have to be there to appreciate it - like a bad joke you tell your friends!

  • Anyway, rest of the month will be interesting - although it's only the 17th, we get paid earlier than usual because of bank holidays etc, so we only have a week and a half till payday. Am in my head trying to plan what I can and can't do to ensure that next month is a good saving month - and ideally a little bit extra this month too, that'll be the ideal scenario. Anyway, annoyed not a lot of OP to do at the moment which is a shame as I have time at the moment being holidays etc.

  • And yet more good news! I've been working alongside a developer of some software for my phone for some time over a bug in the way it accesses my data - he's a very decent chap and we've worked well together. Basically the data usage was huge when it should be small as all it does it pulls data off your bank and onto your phone in a 1 way handshake so you can check your details etc on your phone but not transfer etc. Ideal! However it was taking up more space of my megabyte allowance than it should. Today he kindly admitted there was an error and sent me an amazon voucher for £30 - not an insignificant amount and not something I was expecting, which is just great. Will use it to buy something useful, unusure what but certainly better than a punch in the mouth!
