We then wandered to the living room, so I could play gracious hostess and work out how to put myself on the outside of another glass of wine.

We had what has to be the weirdest conversation I've ever had, as we were both trying hard no to offend the other. ~She then piped up with details of what excitement they'd been up to, including a weekend break, which gave me a chance to ask if the hotel gardens were still as lovely as when the ex & I went:rolleyes:

he called about 3 mins after that (I think to check there's been no bloodshed) and as I left to bring in the pud, I could hear some furious whipering down the phone
    :D:D:D

I would definately reccommend the pudding from M&S. It didn't look to promising going in, but served with some berries etc, it was truly yummy~looked good too.

I have to say hand on heart that I was as nice as can be when you don't know what possessed you to do something so stupid. I sickened myself with my oozing display of bonhomie, which when she then played with her food (do you think she'd read some of the suggestions on the thread:rotfl: ) did wind me up a lot.

My friends think I'm a nutcase and have taken great delight in telling me that I deserved all I got, so thanks for all your ideas and support guys.

:rotfl: Well at least you made it back to us in one piece..do you know how many times I've checked this thread today to see what happened :rotfl:
  • I want to know what the furious whispering was about ! I'd have been stood behind the door trying to hear.

Having said that, I hate my last ex's missus, so no fear of me inviting her round...

SHe may think she was being clever not telling you about stuff she didn;t like, and refusing a drink, but actually she looks petty and you look very generous of spirit in your invitation to her, so I think it's game set andmatch to you! Well done!
