Why should anyone be compensated for something that didn't happen?

No, but did they compensate me for the diesel it took to return their uncercooked chicken?? No.

Right, phoned up Trading Standards, but was automatically put through to Consumer Direct. They took all my details and said that it was in Morrisons rights just to refund my money. She said that she would pass details to TS, and they may or may not contact me. So I decided to take chicken back, CS woman examined it and said that the blood was all the way through the middle, so she sent for Manager, he came had one look and said 'sometimes we get chicken like that' so I said to him 'so would you eat that then'? He just mumbled something about a refund and then went. I told the CS woman that I thought the whole thing was disgusting, she didnt even reply, just gave me the refund. Oh I did tell them that TS had been informed. What a massive waste of time, not even a 'sorry' May have to re-think where I shop in future, especially after todays bill was £86.00. Thanks for all your replys.
    why phone Trading Standards?

you should have contacted Environmental Health Dept at the local council:cool:

i think it varies from store to store the treatment you get in reguards to probs like this. i once bought a fresh chicken from morrisons. Special offer of £4.99. had a about 4 days life on it. anyway next day when i took it out pack to use the whole underside was green. it was repulsive. i phoned them. they said bin it and when you come in pick up a voucher from CS and were make a note in diary you phoned and are coming in. Next day went in and they gave me a free £4.99 chicken and £5 voucher off my shopping.

When I first started working in Morrisons (still an unconverted Safeway at the time) I witnessed the counter staff being ordered to cook chickens that had clearly gone off, they were slightly green and smelled terrible! Amazingly, they had no returns...

Due to pressures of making sure waste is kept down, they would often cook chicken that was a couple of days past it's use by, very very illegal! At one point, they cooked some frozen breaded chicken portions that were 6 months out of date! This was before I took over as the dept manager, when I did I had a massive throw out and dared the store manager to sack me lol, he didn't dare, my evidence (a lot of photographic) would have brought him down to his knees.

I would just take the refund and be happy mistakes can happen anywhere I guess

IMHO...poop happens, someone screwed up and didnt check it, if it was recurrent then yea goto FSA etc. Bit overkill to go there staright away

Its a Mistake, they happen in my opionion.

But yea, an apology would have been nice, i would complain about the way CS handled it tho.
