I wonder how many "new" ones they had in the 3-4pm slot.
I must have got around 9 added to my basket with each time it "saying this item is not available."
Anyone any idea of places with them still ? Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -
How many people are affected by this? I know of one person at work, so that's him and ferret...2. Who else??0

tmb2000 wrote:But how/why have we lost it? My order was taken and for delivery before Xmas - how can this now have been allocated to someone else - I just do not understand?
Think of a queue for something. If you move out of the queue, someone behind you moves forward to take you place and you go to the back of the queue. If there are 100 items and only 3 in the queue - no problem. If there is 100 in the queue and only 3 items - you lose out.
Changing the delivery dates moves you to the back of the queue. I pointed this out on another thread and was rubbished for doing it. Never mind :cool:0 -
I didn't even get one. Sat and clicked the button but it just said none available.
Feel really sorry for the people that changed their delivery, that would annoy me far more than I am now at not grabbing one.
I wouldn't hold your breath on Amazon doing anything though. They've allocated all the consoles and if you complain, for them to give you one will mean cancelling someone elses order - so they're going to get a complaint anyway so they'll not do that. Most you'll get is money off/compensation and put first in line when they next become available.0 -
tmb2000 wrote:Thanks but this in not right - gonna give Amazon hell over this!!!!!
I have given them hell, to no avail. I was on the phone for nearly one hour in the end
Their call centre is in Manilla, Philippines, and when Mr.x says that "this is their policy and he can't pass you to anybody more senior to discuss it" there is not a lot else that you can do.
They only have generic e-mails - to which I have also complained0 -
This isn't gloating, and I think we should still boycott Woolies (sorry to the Vent board !!), but I had mine delivered today by toysrus.
Woolies ballsed the whole game up, canceling my order once, then I reorderd on the Comet@woolworths thing on Tueday - cancelled again.
LUCKILY (!!!!) I was on night shift this week.Kept clicking refresh on the toysrus (wii plus Cars, PLay, Extra controller and GT Pro plus wheel) for 270and got one at 1am Thurs.
Delivered today
YYYYAAAAAHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
[Only down side is that it's for the kids xmas - so cant play it]
My heartfelt commiserations to anyone let down by the "didn't expect it to be so popular" retailers - all I can say is remember who let you down and tell EVERYONE you know about their poor service.0 -
Just had my phone call from Dr Who to tell me that Woolies have my Wii ready to pick up :j :j
I hope my son likes the idea of a new console with rather worn controller for Xmas - don't think I will be able to resist :j :jI am an IFA (and boss o' t'swings idst)You should note that this site doesn't check my status as an IFA, so you need to take my word for it. when it got to the point where it was clear that I was not going to get one no matter what I then asked what they would offer me by means of compensation for this.
The answer was quite clear. "It is not our policy to offer compensation in situations like this where the problem has been created by a customer's own actions"
Yup, read it and weep.
Amazon's view is that it is OUR FAULT for changing our minds over the delivery preferences, despite the fact that we were only responding to their enticement0 -

don't ask, have been waiting long enough for the thing to contemplate getting intimate with it. Just need reassuring that it won't be wrong to do it and you seem to be giving me that reassurance.
And if anyone was planning to tell me how I can get intimate with the console too... I'll probably do that as well!!I am an IFA (and boss o' t'swings idst)You should note that this site doesn't check my status as an IFA, so you need to take my word for it.
