Nintendo WII pre order only £180

This is a weird thing tbh - because I changed mine to express, then back, then to express again, then back again on my first wii order (I ordered in the previous purchase window) and it was fine, but a number of people seem to have had this behavior.ferret wrote:ADVICE TO ANYONE WHO GOT ONE - DON'T CHANGE TO EXPRESS
I think it might be because you did it so close to the window? Maybe when I changed mine nobody could "buy" the spare one that was freed by the cancellation, so I was able to pick it up again without problem. I suppose if you did it near the window, you could have freed it, then someone could have clicked "buy" even before your thing picked it up again.
It's a stupid system though, once you've reserved an item it should be reserved for you unless you cancel.
Let us know how you get on....0 -

On the phone to Amazon now
Guy reckons they oversold in this latest period and me changing the delivery options "temporarily cancelled" the order before "immediately re-ordering"
The temporary cancel effectively put me to the back of the queue and so when it came to re-order there were none left to allocate
The system then puts in an artifical "estimated" delivery date based on when they tink stocks will next be available.
Naturally I am protesting but I may have lost it .... still on the line
ADVICE TO ANYONE WHO GOT ONE - DON'T CHANGE TO EXPRESS
I'm still on the line protesting but he says that effectively I am stuffed ... my order was given to somebody else ... but I will definately get it in February
I'm still protesting...0 -
They are now trying to say that it was my fault, even though I only changed to express because they put IN BOLD TEXT
"Change your order to Express Delivery within the next 90 minutes for guaranteed delivery by 1pm on 9th December"
Have now asked for a manager but my heart is sinking fast0 -

Tha same thing has happened to my workmate. He tried to change delivery to Special Delivery and the date changed to Feb 2007. Surely they can't have oversold the Wii, as it didn't happen last time, when there were far more people trying to buy it (I assume!)0 -
Got one, now to sell it somewhere...0

I changed to Express Delivery, thinking that I would rather spend the extar dosh and have it in my hands guaranteed for Christmas Day, and it went to 8th FEB 2007
Changed back to First Class and it now says 9th FEB 2007
B*GGER
Same thing happened to me. Wanted it tomorrow for a full weekend of playing. Managed to quickly change it back to first class and the original December delivery date. Would have cancelled the order if I have had to wait until Feb.
Looks like they will continue to fetch a premium on ebay if even amazon cant get their next batch until Feb.
Also - has anyone actually played on one yet. Any good?0 -

Happened to me as well - I presumed it was a mistake, if I've lost this I will be furious0 -
My pcworld order has turned up! Even though the web site still says progressing!
As an added bonus the extra controller that it came with is the Wii Play bundle!
Anyone else got this instead of a normal controller?
Cant wait to get it home and have a game of tennis with the wife!
Game one still not arrived.0
