  • yep many of the stores listed the wii for pre-order are doing it blind.

My view is that Amazon wouldn't want to list it for pre-order until they definitely knew how many they had. Whereas, I would see Play.com as offering it anyway, just like they do with many pre-launch products.

The best deal is from HMV IF you can do the following:

1)Pre-order it now and get extra points on your hmv game card worth £10 (at least).Costs £30 to do that.

    2) 1 week before its due, apply for an HMV store card. This will give you 10% off instore (including hardware) for 6 weeks!

Therefore total cost will be 179.99 - 17.99 = £162. :) + you will have 1 tenner to spend on a new gam AND 10% off it.

Think thats the best deal anyway... and on the day you only pay £132 as youve already paid 30! lol

So how many of you got the email from play.com regarding not being able to supply the WII?? My friend who ordered from them got the email yesterday - unlikely to be able to supply till after xmas.

Anyone know anywhere that will be able to supply before xmas?

we got a leaflet from game 3 days ago confirming our pre order that we'll def get one on the launch day ! Yippeeee.. here's hoping
  • We preordered ours from PC world, as we know it is the same company as dixons, comet etc, but I used the code to get £13 pounds off our total purchase which was £259, that was the Wii, Zelda and monkey ball, what with the £13 discount and the £20 off the RRP for buying a package with 2 games, the extra controller that comes with it works out free, and they're normally £29.99 each. Although we might not get one for launch day, there's still just under two weeks after that to get one before Xmas day!

game wouldn't allow us to pre-order a package as according to them they don't know what packages they will offer until the week before launch.. just have to wait for our call to see what they will offer us.. sounds like you got a good deal there thou !! :T

It will be £180 (work at GAME), and the games have been said to be between £30-£40, same as Gamecbe games, althogh i've been recently told by a rep £33 without VAT, so i'm expecting £35. Also be careful when preordering - a LOT of places have reached Quotas that Nintendo sent out, and play.com and other online places were known for letting people down, especially with the 360s.

Nintendo wanted thier console as cheap as possible, and considering what he 360 and PS3 will cost, its not bad, its a bit the tax hike has to be so steep. Also Nintendo Have confirmed the price will be £180, very very very little chance of it going down once confirmed.

On another note - i've had my Wii ordered and confirmed over a month ago :D
