Nintendo WII pre order only £180

Gadget-guy wrote:I have been told this info now by a few people, Game have been given 80% of the consoles coming into the UK ( do not like the customer service at game but have pre ordered here as I think I will get one), so if you are ordering through Currys etc. then get in early as they will not be getting much, some companies are getting none like Play.com.
If the same people who told you this also advised you to flog your house and put the proceeds on a certain nag running at Kempton Park would you believe that as well?
Consoles sell games, (which is where the serious profits come from), and for Nintendo to put 80% of their launch consoles into Game would be commercial suicide when it comes to selling their games catalogue via all the other distribution channels. Amazon, Argos. HMV, Play and the rest would be livid if that was the case and really give Wii a hard time in future.
Far more believable would be that Game will be certain of getting at least 80% of their allocation on the launch date.
IMHO of course0 -
Game aren't taking preorders anymore either.0

i've pre-ordered from sendit with the quidco discount (HMV quidco is now only 2.5%)
Anybody know how "reliable" sendit are for pre-orders? I can cancel if they are naff0 -
Woolworths doing preorders as well ...0

should I wait for the amazon pre ordeR?0

Amazon are crap, I would personally avoid them. I have a £20 gift coupon with them so thought I would buy one of those new iPod shuffles. This was on the 5th November.
18th November and the estimated dispatch date is still showing as 14th November...
I pre ordered from Woolworths now as I got a free delivery to a local store near my workplace (Ideal as I can just nip in after work) and 5% Quidco. Plus they 'guarantee' you will get it on launch day!0 -
the consoles less tahn a 360 so i would have imagined the games would be less tahn 360 gamesNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20

If you really want one on the launch date then it sounds good. Ask yourself what you'll do if it's not there - will you worry? Can you get compensation? How likely are woolies getting enough supplies to satisfy their orders?
You could write to Woolies after ordering and say that you've entered into a contract to buy, ('cos they're taking your cash), on the understanding that you will have the console on the agreed date and if you don't, you will file a calim in the small claims court for reasonable compensation - say the cost of the console. That may ensure you get one or they might just cancel your order. At least you'll know where you stand0
