I don't think Rare have all that much of a say in it though, as Rare was the developer of these games but Nintendo was the publisher, coupled with the fact that these games were developed at a time when Nintendo owned 49% of Rare with Rare shareholders owning the other 51% before the whole business was sold to Microsoft.
Therefore I would presume its pretty much all Nintendo's decision whether to release these games on the Virtual Console or not.
Infact Donkey Kong Country is CONFIRMED to be a release title on the VC in Japan, and that was a title developed by Rare!0 -

The pre-order is only as good as the availability, if if these guys are ordering mulitple consoles (which they will, whether 1 is the policy or not, different friends, family, etc, etc) then there is a good chance of them getting one or more. While joe bloggs public goes in pre-orders one the probability of actually getting one is less.
I pre-orderedmine in the first week as I knew I wanted one.If I had a son/daugher who wanted one Id have done the same. Pretty much guaranteed then.
If they can order multiples then it cant be difficult for joe bloggs to go in on the first day and ask to pre-order. Or phone up the store like I did.
If people have the money to pay 300+ on ebay they clearly have the money to pre-order more than 1 to ensure they get one.
I wasnt contradicting myself either. Just asking what Woolies guarantee is? Can you sue for having a disappointed child claiming they guranteed it?Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -

This is correct. In fact many of the characters in the titles are owned by Nintendo. The word on the street is that goldeneye will be a virtual title at some point, in the near future.Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

!!!!!!_Dastardly wrote:That I'm afraid does not wash. Nintendo have supplied an vast amount of consoles worldwide on this launch. Not like Sony who could not even supply the Isle of Man. What about the efforts being made by genuine fans, who are scuppered by these profiteers. Receiving the ' sorry we can not .....' replies.
When it comes to consoles launches, these ebay guys are selfish spoilers, who know perfectly well, that the only way they make a quick buck, is to shaf* someone who really is interested in the console. It makes me mad, and ebay should get there act together.
Incidentally those looking for a shooter on the Wii, call of duty 3, is supposed to be fantastic, but has no multiplayer which lets it down, red steel has problems with the control system. In particular the sighting arrangements, when turning, and strafing.
Well obviously Nintendo's supply doesn't equal its demand - so this is why people can sell them for more on ebay - things are only worth what people are willing to pay for them - it's not the ebayers fault that people are willing to pay silly prices for things. It may infact mean someone gets a console who otherwise wouldn't have got one, if everyone hung onto their preorder.
Same situation for Sony but they obviously have a harder job making their console - the Nintento Wii doesn't look to be more technically advanced that the previous generation consoles, here.0 -

Supply probably would not meet demand even if these ebayers weren't screwing the system. Don't however, proclaim that someone will get them who otherwise wouldn't cos that's rubbish as the ebayer pre-order would have been taken by another person who ACTAULLY WANTED THE CONSOLE. The system is being made worse by ebayers, you know it and I know it, whether your one of those screwing the populus of course is another matter.
The situation with sony ps3 will be worse, but that's because Sony can make hardly any consoles (literally), although the processor is more advanced than the Wii, the control technology is way behind Nintendo. Some much so that although a 3rd party can make a tilt control system for the PS3, sony are unable to do it themselves. Mind you that could be because they got taken to court and fined several millions when they did it last time.
On another note the DS isn't technical up to the PSP spec, but in terms of gameplay, its miles ahead, this is shown by the fact Sony's PSP is being well and truly kicked up the backside in all markets by the 'inferior' DS which indeed uses a revolutionary control system, on games such as Metroid Hunters, Trauma Centre, Brain Training, etc. A FPS on the PSP, uuummmmMMM, while metroid in the DS feels almost as good as mouse and keyboard, with the stylus use to direct aim, etc.Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.
