  • HMV WII ORDER

I had the email saying i would be getting one and it said they were going to take payment on last week. When they didnt i emailed them and they said it would be taken yestaday, but it was not.

However i have just rang them and they said that it is not payment but "payment authorisation" basically checking pre allocation payment or something anlone those lines. Full payment will not be taken until it is shipped.

He also said that i was one of the 1st orders so result.

  • If someone's made the effort to get a pre-order - they can do what they like with it. I'd say its nintendo's fault for not making enough consoles for release day, not ebayers.

That I'm afraid does not wash. Nintendo have supplied an vast amount of consoles worldwide on this launch. Not like Sony who could not even supply the Isle of Man. What about the efforts being made by genuine fans, who are scuppered by these profiteers. Receiving the ' sorry we can not .....' replies.

When it comes to consoles launches, these ebay guys are selfish spoilers, who know perfectly well, that the only way they make a quick buck, is to shaf* someone who really is interested in the console. It makes me mad, and ebay should get there act together.

Incidentally those looking for a shooter on the Wii, call of duty 3, is supposed to be fantastic, but has no multiplayer which lets it down, red steel has problems with the control system. In particular the sighting arrangements, when turning, and strafing.
Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.

EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items. :D

Thanks for this, I got that same email but wondered why nothing had been taken with regards to payment and was going to phone them today myself. I ordered on the day they started taking pre-orders and the email we had seems to imply we will definately get the consoles in time for launch day. :T

They have as much chance of getting them as anyone else so if you didnt get one you never tried had enough.
I could sell you one if you are desperate though :D

yeah same day for me, 18/09/2006 I think I ordered just after mid-day. This is the first time I've pre-ordered a console, ever. Just as well really as it seems, sadly, there are going to be quite a few disappointed people this christmas.
  • I've just pre-ordered with Wollies - Are we sure to get them?

  • Have just ordered over the telephone from Argos. They've taken payment and issued a confirmation no. Apparently my Wii will be despatched on the 8th of December, they're pretty confident that this will happen but someone will call me the week before and arrange a delivery date.

They think that at worst you should be able to get one delivered by the 15th of December. Only down side is the £4.95 deliver charge. They also said that I manage to get one on launch day from somewhere else, provided they haven't actually despatched it yet I can cancel the order.

OK Newbie alert! (hence the messing up of the quote above)

Just wanted to say something and it's not directed at you personally !!!!!!!
I have heard about these forums, but never really ventured. But I have to say that I'm quite impressed. ALOT of money saving / making tips.
I don't quite understand this moaning. It was the same with the Genesis tickets (the main reason I came looking in the forums!) OK so I want the Genesis tickets. But there was a little dig at people that joined the Genesis forums last night, just to get the pre book tickets. (which included me!)
There are people in this thread moaning about people buying up Wii's to sell on Ebay. Well fair play to them thats what I say. There is nothing Illegal about it. If I wanted to buy something and sell it on ebay, I am entitled to do so. OK so it may P a few people off, but on the other hand, there are people out there that will pay over the odds for one.

So in my eyes, anybody buying things to sell on Ebay, I salute you!
(and I have a wii on pre order and it's going on Ebay)

For all the moaners out there, what can I say? Get over it. It happens. It has happened since Ebay has been around and I guess it will always happen.

Everybody is a member of this forum to either save, make or spend money. No matter which way you look at it, we are all doing the same thing!!

I for one am going to enjoy this forum and the website as a whole.
So just keep smiling and love each other.

    Pete
