They are a total pain in the A&SE. I am fine with folk picking up a bargain then flogging on ebay at a fair price. I get pi&sed when they buy stuff at the RRP in situations like these, and then use the fact that they have taken all the stock out of supply in order to further there needs at the expense of others.
What gets me even more annoyed is that in the end not only dopey joe bloggs who pays more than the RRP on ebay get stung everyone does. If you have £250 to spend, that would equate to a console and a game, ie nintendo and stores (game, etc), get there nice cut (game and console) everyones happy. But if you spend £250 solely on the console, via ebay, result is. Ebayer picks up quick buck, No sale of addtional game, thus longer term higher prices for Mr Public, because these companies need to make the margin somewhere. :mad:Drat and Double Drat, curse that Mr T excuse for not giving me a refund.
EVERY LITTLE EXCUSE HELPS in trying to get out of the R&R policy when the law has been broken, especially on high value items.0 -

If someone's made the effort to get a pre-order - they can do what they like with it. I'd say its nintendo's fault for not making enough consoles for release day, not ebayers.0 -
well, i've preordered with woolies, so fingers crossed
at least the one I want is for a grown up so not too stressful if it goes pearshaped :rotfl:

I ordered my Nintendo Wii from Curry's and got 10% off and free postage (and Quidco). I got a security phone call the next morning and the woman said that she will push the pre-order through for me (no mention of it being sold out).
Whether I get mine on launch day is another thing but I'm willing to wait if it means getting a discounted Wii.0 -

You might be lucky with Currys. They offloaded a large amount of Gamecubes for Nintendo a while ago so maybe there is a favour owed?0 -

Some inside information there! I hope you're right cheapskate58. I wouldn't be upset if I didn't receive one on launch day but one should be delivered before Xmas. Everyone seems to be ordering/buying from the same places. I don't think anyone has mentioned Curry's. Aren't they the U.K.'s biggest electrical retailer?
You cannot use the 10% Woolworths discount on Game Consoles. The £5 discount works and you can get it delivered to a store. I know because I tried Woolworths before Curry's.0 -

My boss went into Currys.digital on Tuesday after HMV cancelled his order. They'd only just put their poster in the window and didn't really seem to know what was going on - he got his name down first on their list.0 -

I'll take Curry's clueless stance to be good news!
Actually, i've just noticed something. There's no order button for the Wii on Currys website. It must've sold out.0
