I saw some frozen chicken in Tesco a while ago
750g for £2.99 (40p/100g according to the SEL)
A few month later - same brand smaller pack

I thought about mentioning it to CS but given past experience with them decided not to waste my time.
ah that'll be either those putting out stock not noticing a weight change(honestly it does happen). However they'd get sent a box with new tickets for most items in the store every 4-8 weeks, so it should be replaced. We actually have to replace many tickets even though nothing has changed, price is the same, packaging the same, weight the same, nothing different at all. The only difference is the old and new tickets will have a slightly different number in the bottom right corner(tiny letters), one might say ST-3/2(i forget, there are 2-3 letters normally) and the next will say ST-4. It's basically phases of the year.0 -

oh tell me about it Sainsbury's is terrible for it. Actually it's often making it worse for them, it's not they make out it's cheaper, it's the other way around most of the time. The product will be say £2 for 600g and it'll say something crazy like £14/100g. Obviously just not proof read but I've noticed a fair few where I've stopped and gone...:eek:0 -
I stopped at tesco yesterday as I was to use my hard earned money vouchers. To my surprise tesco Leyton (shop nr 2832) stored out of date yoghurts (expiry 29 July 10) next to fresh ones. What a nasty shock. I collected 10 items out of the shelf and wheeled off to the checkouts. The woman called another member of staff who was to call a manager but he was at a meeting. He took the stuff away and emptied the whole shelf immediately.
I am wondering what other surprises tesco Leyton has on offer. And no one offered me any reward. Much appreciated, I left the feedback on their website.0 -
I have never got any "reward" for spotting OOD food. Am often harrassed and don't realise it til I've got home, and our Morrisons is really bad for it. I have bought OOD alcopops, chocolates, cheese and just got my money back (which I was happy enough with)
The worst OOD thing I spotted on the shelves was a tub of infant formula milk - it is the one thing I was always v fastidious with checking dates, seals etc as the thought of giving my children dodgy milk is too scary - it was a good few months out of date, I pointed it out and they took it off the shelf0 -
Don't get me started on Asda- once I nearly walked off having paid £7 odd for a satsuma. The cashier had lent on the scales. I went to get a refund and they refused me. Told me they had to look on CCTV (incase I had eaten the 20 satsumas I suppose) they came back, did give me a refund by no apology made. I will never forget that.
Added to that the security guard who follows me around for reasons I am unaware just does my head in!- actually maybe I am better off staying with Tescos!
Before my MSE days, one SA left her pen on the scales whilst she weighed my stuff. I commented that I had paid for the weight of her pen, but she just looked at me totally blank. I don't think she understood at all that her pen was added to the cost.
I should have asked for the pen to take home with me. :rotfl::rotfl:
I'd be much better now and put up a fight.....I want to be credit card and loan free by Christmas 20100 -

Unfortunetly a risk business: many supermarkets cover their "rubbish" with inductrial bleach to prevent people such as the homeless raiding the bins. Evil or what?!0 -
If they had a system like that in the UK, the scrubbers would go in with bags of out of date items, claim they found the goods on the shelves and cash in.
Thats set me thinking-where are all these scrubbers-we dont have them round here;we have lots who are a bit prejudiced though!0 -
Buy it, and then take it back for a refund!
Depending on the supermarket, you may get just a refund, double refund, replacement and refund, a giftcard, or more......0 -
Wonder if that might be worth a try. I always look at the dates of things I buy after some bad expereinces, never thought of buying them on purpose!Debt free since July 2013! Woo hoo! The bank actually laughed when I said I have come in to cancel my overdraft.0
