In Danish supermarkets, you normally get a reward if you come across an 'out of date' item on their shelves. Depending on the supermarket chain, you are given a bag of coffee, red wine or some other rewards for letting them know if they have OOD goods on their shelves.
What are the rules for various supermarket chains here in the UK?
Thanks.

To be fair, I once spotted some OOD cheese at Tesco, and the man on the customer services desk set off at a run to get it off the shelf...
Coffee would have been nice, though...import this0

If they had a system like that in the UK, the scrubbers would go in with bags of out of date items, claim they found the goods on the shelves and cash in.0

No reward like that here, they arent obliged to give 1 ayway, i just gave a polite smile and a thankyou for pointing out food that was out of date0

I found mouldy rolls in sainsbury, mouldy bread in asda, and several times stuff past it's sell by date. Actually if the lads are marking RTC I go looking for stuff and offer it up to them for a sticker 0 0

I once bought a multipack of something from an asda store and when i got home and realised it was out of date, I phoned the store and they asked me to return the product. I got a full refund, a replacement and a free £2 voucher. :-)GE 36 *MFD may 2043

If I ever mention an out of date item on the shelf, I either get a dirty look, it snatched out of my hands followed by "you cannot buy that" or the staff member shurgs and walks off. Occasionally they will say "thats not my department".
Just the idea of getting anything close to thankyou would be better then a dirty look.
Or maybe I should just stop shopping at Tesco....0
