eta: apparently she's just started customising wheelchairs, too - for the reference of the poster above...0 -

if you want plain coloured ones. I've bought 2 pairs from Kate and she's excellent. chicaidcrutches.co.uk. Lots of colours including black.
Sorry, I can't post links so I hope this helps.
She's lovely! AND she's my sponsor for my musicShe let me have a pair in black and lilac, although I mainly use the black ones as black is the new black after all.....
Never argue with an idiot; they'll bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience.0 -
I'm in the process of decorating my own walking stick.....I did look at the ones already pre done but had a bit of a shock at the price!
Plus the fact that there was nothing that was completely how I wanted it, so thought it easier to do it myself....even if it may not be so plush. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

thats exactly what i did singlesue, i found the right sized stick in a £1 shop, pretty sturdy but a nasty icky dark brown varnish, got my kids to help sand that nasty stuff off then spent 3 days painting it metacllic green, which i also found in the £1 shop, got some shiny footprint stickers and stuck them all over it
, now i got a fab stick and it only cost me £3

Your first post, you resurrect a 7 month old thread? Methinks something is up here
If I am wrong then I sincerely apologise but the particular company you recommend have tried this before on this thread I seem to recall. You are not allowed to link or recommend your own products/company - somebody was banned for that when this thread originally went up.

I have the leopard print ones :T
My order arrived within 24 hours of payment too, from memory I ordered around 2pm and they were delivered about 11am the next day.
Be aware that if you are very tall the print won't run all the way up the stick as the extendible bits are just black.
I've never used crutches before so I can't compare with any other types, but they are very comfy and stable, and I feel I am walking 'normally' in them rather than hobbling.. I've seen myself in shop windows and I am actually hobbling (:rotfl:) but I feel I'm walking normally.
If you want something personalised then Glamsticks is the way to go, she'll do practically anything you want, she'll even discuss things you like and help come up with a design for you if you're not sure what you want. She does amazing things with diamontes so great if you're going some wear glamorous or special functions like weddings etc0 -
For my brother's wedding, I applied organza, ribbon and small silk roses to my crutch and the same for my new sister in law's mother's stick.
They looked so pretty and only cost me £3 to do the both...and on my crutch has lasted from Christmas eve until now with people still admiring it!
Feel like a change soon though, getting bored of a pretty crutch and quite fancy going back to a hardcore one.We made it!
