eeeek 12 days??? so you got everything sorted then? this must be the worst bit just waiting for him to arrive!0 -
Yep, everything sorted and ready. It's weird playing the waiting game- I don't know if it's going to happen tonight, next week or 3 weeks time. Obviously sooner would be nicer than later...Debt at highest May 2006: £27,472.24

I'm pretty sure its the right thing for me - scary but exciting! I went out for a day last week with a community midwife and got a really good insight into the job she does. Most of the women were perfectly happy for her to explain things to me, and help me to feel what she was feeling (baby's head etc) which was very kind of them, amazing for me! I'm trying to take my time and be sure I'm not rushing into the decision (I can't apply until sept 2007 now anyway). But the more I think about it the more I really think its what I want to do :eek:I've just been offered a job teaching photography on a summer camp in New Jersey though so am focussing on saving up and planning for that now! :j
Thanks for asking, sorry for hijacking with my waffle!
Hope you manage to relax, I'm impatient waiting for the littlest things so heaven knows how I'd cope in your situation :rotfl:

You're not hijacking, I wanted to know! I had a student midwife the other day- bless him, he looked so nervous about touching my bump and kept asking if he was hurting- he couldn't have been more gentle if he'd tried.
Excellent news about the summer camp hun- that will be a fab experience.
I'm also impatient but it's going to be nice to have at least a few days away from work before the baby arrives so I'm not in too much of a hurry.
Anyway, I'll be on here a lot while I'm waiting so if anyone fancies a chat...

Hi Mrs Sparkle - hope you are relaxing and enjoying your maternity leave! I love reading about other peoples babies/pregnancies. Congratulations on your payrise and bonus, what a great thing to happen. I've just got a payrise too, but it was only £30 per month....wow, whatever will I spend it on??!!
I had a student midwife (along with my normal midwife) at my last appointment - it was her first time observing, and she had never prodded a bump before. She really gently put her hand on my stomach, shouted 'Oh' and snatched her hand away as if something had bitten her. She looked absolutely mortified, and explained she hadn't realised how hard the bump would feel, and it had come as a shock! Both me and the 'proper' midwife were crying with laughter, poor girl!
Anyway, wishing you all the best, can't wait to hear that Thomas has made an appearance.
