I call Shennigans on this post.

    New account, created this morning.
Rang a supermarket and the checkout supervisor answered.
Supervisor went on to laugh about your complaint
Popular, but wrong, description of Tourettes

Sorry, but I think someone is writing fiction.

What you count doesn't really make much difference to the rules of English though does it? I could say I count a pound sign the same as a '!' and '?' and end my sentences with that but it wouldn't make it correct.

Sentences end with full stops, exclamation marks or question marks. Not little smiley faces.

In future you're going to go to the trouble of pointing out someone's lack of proper punctuation then it would strengthen your argument not to make such mistakes in your own posts.

Otherwise you look a little bit silly.

Can you please post me to the rules of English? Thanks

I quite liked you before that post. Now I just think you're a ****.

If that is the case, your signature is grammatically incorrect. ;)

I'd imagine they can be found fairly easily with most search engines.

Remember not to put a smiley face at the end when you type in the search box though because Google may not recognise your own personal rules of English.

I'm devastated. And I thought we'd be friends forever.

At least you put a full stop at the end of whatever word you typed in place of those stars. Well done to you.

Google copes quite fine with smileys. :)

    See!

I told you that you could find the rules of English by yourself!

(I also think it makes you seem really cool that you actually went away and tried searching for it with a smiley face and then posted a screen-grab!)

    Classic!:rotfl:

I don't know if this is the case here but I know that someone took over an old unused account and started posting on it. The one time I'm aware of that this happened was when they were bragging about it in the Arms.

The OP has posted nothing since Nov 09 and now this thread has started.

Whilst medical information is, of course, confidential. I think that if the till operator genuinely does have Tourettes then the other staff would naturally discover pretty quickly!

Yes I understand that the people he works with would find out in the course of their job, but I dont think it was appropriate for her to disclose this to a customer.

I do agree with the majority though, that if this is true, his manager should really find him something more suitable, its not fair for customers to be spoken to like that, a job where he does not have to speek to customers would be much better, and hopefully with members of staff who understand and accept his condition (ie can deal with it without getting upset themselves, and who would not take the pi$$ and wind him up about it, making it worse.)
