i responded instantly that the e-mailed me about the claim, then i esculated to a dispute and never herd another thing from them after the acnoligement i got for responding, they said to wait up to 30 days, its only been 10!
also how much is the 0870 number on their website going to cost me, i would rather talk than e-mail them?Owner of a cute cottage in the North York Moors :j0 -
i phoned paypal (on phone 30 minutes) it seems i responded to the claim and not the dispute and they sent me 4 emails telling me what to do that were never recieved into my hotmail account, i cannot believe my bad luck.
Is this really bad luck or is there anything anyone can suggest to help now, paypal say it cannot be looked at again and they have the correct e-mail address, even the ones they sent thismorning while i was on the phone didnt arrive.
They sent copies to my other home based account and they arrived instantly.
I feel really rubbush today, hardly slept and have lost £170 on a case i was 99% sure i would win.Owner of a cute cottage in the North York Moors :j0 -
The curse of Hotmail again. I don't know where all the ebay mail to Hotmail ends up but a lot of it just goes missing, the sender never gets a bounce message so never knows it hasn't arrived.
Unfortunately there is only ever one go at a formal dispute, if you miss that and do not respond formally then it cannot be reopened.
I'm sorry but I think Hotmail have caused you to lose this one.

Sorry, I can't recall if this has already been suggested, but as refund has been granted you can now start a NPB on the buyer.

I don't use ebay much at all (after reading all the horror stories on here).
Surely what has happened in this case is no better than theft. There must be a legal way to claim your money back again from paypal. It disgusts me that honest people can be robbed in this way.

There is a legal way, it is called the dispute resolution which has now been exhausted. It is like all financial institutions in that there has to be an end to any dispute, so if the dispute closes then that decision must be final otherwise there would be no point and it would just drag on for ever. Paypal can be blamed for many things, and often is, but it cannot be blamed for the problems Hotmail appear to be having with certain areas of mail delivery.

3 quick points.
1) I am really sorry for you, you've been scammed by a con woman.
2) Forget about her or you complaining to the Police, trust me they wouldn't be in the least bit interested in a civil dispute like this.
3) If you decide to go down the small claims court route, it WILL be transferred to the civil court nearest to HER home address."If a man says something, but there is no woman to hear him, is he still wrong?"0 -
Marvo, thanks for that but she actually only lives about 1 1/2 hours away so its not out of the question, does anyone else think i should do the NPB thing?Owner of a cute cottage in the North York Moors :j0
