Had the Smoked Salmon Pasta tonight, delicious.

Katie has discovered a new food, I gave her a taste of the salmon as I was snipping it up, all I got then was "can I have some more please?"

We didn't need the bread as it was very filling (I did full quantity of sauce to half quantity of pasta :) )

I forgot to the garlic powder but it was lovely without.

DH and DD have voted for Toad in the Hole tomorrow. DH will have the left over gravy from Christmas Dinner as he doesn't like onion gravy.
oh I'm really glad :) that's a good use for the leftover yummy gravy too, very frugalicious of you MDW :T:T

I love hearing about Katie...she seems to be sold on cfr recipes now!!! Toad in the hole sounds yummy, and now I really fancy it. We had tuna steaks and wedges with a green salad, not the cheapest meal in our week but so very very yummy!!!

  • Oh and I was telling a few people I was going to attempt to make fishcakes, it was quite a frugal recipe (kindly provided by Allegra) and I was quite pleased with the outcome so heres a piccie DSC00089.jpg

  • Thanks Arty.

I'm so glad that she's willing to try new food at least once.

Mind you she's the only 3 year old I know that refuses chips.

Ooooo that looks yummy, the MDW house likes fish.

<--- ponders on frugalising fish pie.

Well I think CFR might end up with a frugal fishpie sooner or later, I think Allegras tested one.

Unless it's about me going on dragon's den. In which case I have two words for you too!;)

:rotfl: And why would you be so against that, may I ask? Peter, Deborah and Duncan et al wouldn't know what had hit them, I'm sure!

Have PMd you now - sorry took longer than expected, got home to find my lovely doggy had puked all over the bed... and not just the sheets, oh no - he'd scrabbled them off and been sick on the actual mattress, the little b*****d! So had to sort that out before coming on here. Luckily doggio seems OK in himself, probably just ate his breakfast too fast this morn but will be keeping an eye on him anyway.

Arty your tea sounds lovely - keep meaning to try tuna steaks as am not a big lover of fish (aside from fish n chips and fishfinger butties :o) and feel I should eat it more! And your fishcakes look delish too - could you or Allegra share the recipe please? :) Have a friend who wants her 3 year old son to eat more fish too so might be good for both of us!

Thanks in advance, hope everyone's having a nice evening :)

Alice loves chips (and drives me mad asking for them almost every time we pass the fish and chip shop which is nearly every day) but she doesn't like cake. She's refused to eat her birthday cake the last two years but I would feel really mean if I didn't make one.
