lunchtime pate made and is very very yummy, but as expected my stick blended couldnt cope with it very well so it is quite coarse with afew lumps of liver but its lovely all the same. I only needed 100ml of vegetable oil, I think if I added any more it would of been too slack.

I dont think I will have time today to make bread will leave that for tomorrow but I will be making brownies today.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day, weather is pants here.

    Pate pic is HERE
hi LIT great photo :) and wow you'll have tested all our recipes by next week at this rate- which is fab :beer:

can I just check with 100ml of oil it's moist enough to not need butter or spread?

It spreads fine and no need to butter the bread first.

    Success!!!! :j

Lovely, not too sweet and very yummy. Only downside was that it fell apart but that was my fault as I didnt leave it to cool long enough before cutting it!

    Pic of brownies HERE

    hi everyone,

Well we tried the toad in the hole last night and the onion gravy. Both went down well.
Never made a yorkshire pudding with self raising flour, but it worked surprisingly well. Very filling and a lovely taste. Will definitely be using that recipe in the future.

going to make some other bits and recipes this week and will let you know the results asap.

Hi Kez glad you enjoyed we had never had TITH before but ex and i really enjoyed it and will do again. Had a bit of a grrr moment with him as he had said before that he wasnt keen on the SP sausages (though he has had them before in meatloaf) so i went and bought better ones. After the meal he said "oh why didnt you buy the SP one i think they are fine" grrr MEN!!!!!!!!!
Not following a planner at all this week but hoping to do the risi, tomato pasta and pizza this week as they are all firm favourites at chez shanks.
Glad the testing is working out for folks love hearing the results
  • LIT, thanks so much for the pate info, I have put off trying it as I only have a stick blender. I will try it later now you have blazed a trail!
