Thanks all. It was so much easier to see results as a DFW- I need to remember MFW is very different!

Radish- the wardrobe sounds great! I'm making gradual progress with mine too. The hanger trick is really helping me. It really is true that you wear a minority of your clothes most of the time!

Have made my first dress and wore it on Sunday! It ended up a bit short for work but I'm going to do another one and hopefully wear that for work. I think I'll have to work out how to do a lining for it though! If I can I want to make it in several colours to be the basis of my winter wardrobe.

Have talked with OH and realised that money for windows and decent lawnmower finally hit credit card and got paid in Jan so at least we have things to show for the spending. It also means that things should be back to normal for Feb.
We might not be making the progress we're aiming for but we are aiming very high! Even if we only manage to put in an extra £1 000 most months it will still put us in a much better position when our fixed rate ends after our first 5 years.
We may be aiming at £32 000 this year but if we only manage half of that it will still be good going!! Especially with a wedding being paid for!

hi jellie - you should feel really proud of being able to pay for those things without reaching for the overdraft or interest free button!

It sounds like your dressmaking is come along well too!

It is important not to let work and money dominate your whole life too - and make time for fun and just living.

Thanks Saving- with work being manic and wedding and house stuff to do my life really doesn't feel in balance at the moment. You're right that I need to try and address this!
Have been trying to sort out the church flowers with couple getting married on the same day. Finding it tough to do but at least we get to halve the costs!! Have also been working on making the invites, menus and RSVPs.
Have spoken to dress alterations person about when to do fitting and am hopefully starting to look at bridesmaids dresses with my sister on Friday.
We're seeing vicar on Saturday to discuss the service.
    We're getting there gradually!!

Don't feel like I've got much of a handle on money at the moment. Am just doing what I can manage and updating our progress once a month. I know I could be doing much better- spending too much on material and clothes!! Then again I'm trying not to beat myself up over it!!

You are doing really well Jellie. Getting married adds extra challenges into the mix in terms of all the prep etc... You will get there...

Lost my reply yesterday as the computer crashed!!

Hi Saving, YB and Grateful! Lovely of you all to drop by. Sorry I haven't posted so much- work is very busy and getting me down and that seems to be rubbing off on my MFW efforts!

Grateful- not sure which hymns yet. It is quite difficult finding hymns we both like and the congregation will know! We both like Jerusalem but it makes me get the giggles as when you sing 'and did those feet in ancient times walk upon England's mountains green' I just think...not very likely!! I love more modern hymns but the congregation wouldn't know them!
I'm going to check out the list of suggestions from the church now and at least think about those I'd like ready to discuss with OH
