Something like this but I have enough things I need to do myself to keep costs down without taking this on, plus OH not keen on idea!

Looks lovely Jellie and looks like with the right patterns it shouldn't be too difficult. Definitely one to look for library books on.

The fun of the wedding is going through all the choices and picking what you will and will not do, so you can let this idea go for now.

You could consider making stems of bead flowers for your vases if you do have a go and find it not too hard.

Thanks for the tip Grateful. I'm hoping to make some simple decorations like that so will check them out. was thinking of giving some as thank you gifts and possibly ebaying left overs if they look ok.

Katsu- that is a good idea. I need something simple to start with. Might try doing a few to put on table with some jewel things! I'm just worried that I could end up spending more on supplies and getting into new hobbies than if I pre- bought! Then again it is important to us that it is simple but personalised.
I photocopied a few patterns from a Martha Stewart book I borrowed from the library a while back.

    :D

On the positive side I followed Martin's advice and checked by tax code is correct and let the tax man know the new address (I had thought you only let your employer know and they passed it on doh!) Also had my hair cut- looks so different I don't recognise myself and think it looks like a wig :rotfl:

Feel like I've wasted the day really- traipsed round 3 supermarket and managed to spend a lot of money and still not get everything I needed. The best before dates for loads of things were in the next couple of days and I don't want to buy stuff for Boxing Day and find it doesn't last! Was planning lots of cleaning and baking today and am now too tired to face it! Might try doing some cleaning later or tomorrow will be murder!

  • A frustrating day, then. Lucky you to get your haircut, I have just had to cancel my appointment and the girls' appointments for tomorrow, since I don't judge it safe to take the kids out in the car. Too much snow left.

Luckily the roads aren't too bad round here today. Even better the hairdresser comes to us!

My little test tubes have arrived! Dead cute- although they have 'pyrex' and label etched on them but hopefully that just makes them look authentic! Will see what OH thinks. Hopefully some of the other bits will arrive tomorrow and I can see whether the ideas will fly or not!

I'm a science teacher- they're hopefully going to be mini- vases for tables for the wedding! Just need to figure out what I'm going to use as holders (have a few ideas to try)

Definitely a possibility! Am thinking maybe something more small scale to keep costs down.
