OMG! Just worked out target for 2011 to meet our mortgage free in 5 year challenge. We need to get £36 000 into the offset on top of usual mortgage payments and paying for wedding
Put like that it looks impossible but if we stick to budget, keep wedding costs down and don't have to pay out major expenses on house it is doable.
I could do with a drink! £3 000 a month to save!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0 -
wowzers Jellie, that's a massive target. Is the wedding budgetted for?0

We have a budget and have enough money in offset to cover it but I don't want to spend it!! The main expenses are restaurant and photographer. We're hoping all other costs can be covered in monthly budgets. it will be tough! Once I'm on holiday I'll have another look at wedding budget. Hope to sort out invites, price for dress cleaning and alterations and maybe flowers sorted over Christmas.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

I'm sure you'll be able to cut costs somewhere. I have found that on some things I have saved loads such as the dresses and the rings (OH gets a discount through work) which saved us around £50 which was great.0

I'd temporarily forgotten rings! Must look at my lists again. I'm glad that we're both planning weddings- it helps getting other MSE viewpoints and help!2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

As a scientist I was thinking of using test tubes with flower buds in at reception. Any ideas on how to make a stylish holder?2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0

How about something like those silver wire photo holders (obv not them), but something to secure the test tube around it. There must be something around. Nice idea.0

Will look into that YB. Had a quick chat with DT technician and he's going to sketch some ideas over Christmas and might be able to help me make them and possibly give me free materials! At the moment we are thinking drilling holes in offcuts of wood which would be binned
Thanks SH
Have just got handbag for wedding and pair of comfy backup shoes for £10 each. May add some beading to handbag to get better match to theme.
No sign of decent flowers so far but will hunt more in next couple of days.2019 fashion on a ration 0/66 coupons0
