No consistency! Both my husband and myself names were on ours and I didn't have any problem exchanging them. Suggest you ask to see the manager, request to see it in writing where it states both partners must be present, and also ask if you were just cashing them in at any other time for normal shopping would you both need to be present. Then complain in writing.

Sorry, but I think your wrong. LindseyKim had two lots of vouchers with each lot having a different name not joint names on them.

Think of it like a credit card - you wouldn't be able to use another person's credit card to buy something instore if that person wasn't present would you.

Probably also worth pointing out that you also need to show your (the one named on the CC vouchers) Clubcard at the time of doubling up exchange so two cards also needed in these circumstances.

Yes but why then when we went back an hour later to be served by another more helpfull member of staff did we only have to show the one clubcard and no ID.
Where as previously when my DH went over he had been asked to supply his ID both clubcards and have me present with my ID. I don't even have clubcards for some of the vouchers because they were from online shopping from various temporary accounts.
Quite simply if i had taken them in or DH had taken them in any other time there wouldn't have been a problem. The guy was being a jobsworth and it wasn't just what he was saying it was his attitude towards DH. I will be writing a letter of complaint because i have read about plenty of families who have bundled their clubcard points together for a holiday etc without them all having to be present.
Doesn't really compare to a credit card which these days with pins and not sigs being used me and my DH can share and do share when one of has forgotton/mislaid a card.
I had more grief trying to change/use some bloomin loyalty points than if my DH had taken and used my credit card!

Oh and in keeping with the thread after using up approx 2-3hrs of my day i finally managed to order the divan we wanted and saved £90 on the price. So i'm happy in the end.

Yes, (so long as you know the pin) - I do this regularly with the mrs' credit card (with her permission, of course).

Chip & pin has made this much easier than signing.

i changed up some with differant account names and numbers on. the woman said she couldnt do it as she needed the correct card for the account, i lied to her and said that it wasnt a problem the day befor, so she tried it and it went through smoothly.

tell that to the 2 families infront of me on friday who both bought TVs with double up vouchers,

i think it maybe one of those things where the staff believe one thing but if you try it it works okay, like using vouchers from different accounts.

Please post what you were able to buy with your vouchers and whether instore or online.

A separate thread will be started for those unable to get what they wanted.

Thanks to everyone who has stuck to the OP; the thread is getting a bit of track in recent posts though.

Please only post re your purchases. There are other threads for debate/questions. Cheers in advance.

Sent OH over to tesco extra more than 20mins drive away to change points for home deals so we could order a divan online saving us £90. He's had a wasted journey as he was told because half of the vouchers are in my name i have to be bloody present to change them! Not happy we are married have the same surname and didn't think at all there would be a problem after all either of us can change them online for deals. Bloomin mad  as not only has he been gone more than an hour. I've now got to get myself and the baby dressed (who doesn't 'do' car travel) to waste another hour of my time!
I didn't think that there was any problem as long as it was the same surname? Before i go back and have a rant at the smug jobsworth is this right?

You had a lucky escape then, because Tesco don't sell good quality divans or mattresses. And you can get better quality for less money elswhere.

You would be better off using the vouchers for other items.
