I didn't think that there was any problem as long as it was the same surname? Before i go back and have a rant at the smug jobsworth is this right?

Yes, he is right - he is abiding by the Data Protection Act. Although they may have the same surname, one is 'Mr' and the other 'Mrs' how does he know you are happily married.
Suppose you had recently separated - you moved but your vouchers went to the old address, you would have been told that the vouchers can only be used with your clubcard. I don't think you'd be too pleased (in this scenairo) if someone in the Store had allowed your (ex-)husband to use your vouchers without your clubcard.
For the future, consider joining the two cards together in a joint-account. That way too, for example you can order a new card for him, and vice-versa - unlike now.
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

I thought I should post up what I used mine for!

£85 in CC vouchers doubled to £170 almost got me two pairs of Sienna dining chairs which are half price in the clearance at £92.50 a pair. Total cost to me including delivery was a princely £20, for chairs which would have cost £370 not many weeks ago.

Vouchers changed in store and the instore Tesco Direct desk put all the codes etc. in for me:T.

A word of caution; if you do this make sure the CSA gives you online vouchers, not instore ones that don't have the codes on. Also the CSA doing the double up can only input and exchange up to 6 Clubcard vouchers at each attempt, with the total of those adding up to an amount higher than £5 and ending with a 5 or 0 (£5, £10, £15 etc.). So a bit of thought needed on both sides.

not sure if this is right, when i doubled up my cc vouchers at the cs desk i changed £440 worth to £880 worth there was at least 12 cc vouchers all in one go

Well, that's what I was told today by the CSA at Ayr when she did mine - she could only exchange up to 6 in one go, I did think it strange but was not going to tell her what to do as long as all my vouchers got doubled up.

that may be so but they did it for me, half the vouchers were in my ex wifes name from her clubcard plus and the rest in my name on my tesco credit card. the assistant used my credit card and it went through.
the reason (incase you are wondering) why i had my ex wifes vouchers is when we split up we had over £600 in vouchers so we split them down the middle, never crossed my mind they were for 2 different unlinked accounts. and ive never had trouble using them.

Thanks to everyone who has stuck to the OP; the thread is getting a bit of track in recent posts though.

Please only post re your purchases. There are other threads for debate/questions. Cheers in advance.

Why not go and look at another thread then, pet, no-one here is bothered :p

I read on the hotukdeals site that someone had bought a telly with their points but I didn't think it was allowed - you can't even buy an electric toothbrush, shock, horror - I'd be too worried that I changed my vouchers up then they wouldn't accept them.

I'm glad someone else did the whole Dyson offer thing though (sorry, can't remember who it was) I was considering that deal myself. :T

Btw, how did the lady get on with buying a bag for life to make up her 1p? Surely that wasn't on the list of things she could buy......;)

Well I don't really know. I was behind her at the checkout in the homeware dept. the SA told her to be able to use the £20.00 double up she had to spend £20.00 we both looked at each other and commented on it, the SA told her she could make it up with a bag for life and she did.Someone else on here said they spent less and it was ok so it would seem as usual the rules are being made up as they go along!

I am very lucky to have around £1000 worth of vouchers that I cannot use for clubcard deals (long story, dont ask! lol).

It would be great to "cash out" my vouchers by doubling up, spending the vouchers, and then selling the items that I purchased. Does anyone have any suggestions of suitable items to do this with? They should be reasonably easy to resell, and be able to retain their original price well. The Dyson offer is a good one, but they are selling for FAR less on Eb*y so not suitable. I also obviously have to bear in mind the commision for selling any items, and I don't really want hundreds of items to sell! Any help or advise would be really appreciated! What should I be buying?!

I changed up my £5 voucher for £10 today after checking with CS that i could use it for a fold up picnic table & chairs - was told i could, when i got the voucher it said "excludes camping" - i'm sure the item i bought would class as camping but all the same it went through so with the £4.50 i couldn't double up it costs me just over £4!!
