What original expiry date?
If you have converted your Clubcard voucher to In-Store Exchange vouchers. Then, only the date on the new vouchers has any validity, if it says valid until 05/09/12 that's what it means. That is when you chose to do the double-up exchange - you had an idea what you wanted to use that voucher. Rather, than think it would be a good idea .... Besides, the promotion ends, on the 5th, if you haven't used it, you can send it to the Dundee address, to have it credited - for the original points total.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
original date on voucher is August 2011. I have not converted them yet. As i cant find anything I want/need the direct website at mo, i might keep hold of them and hope they do another 'double up' scheme before then0

You were lucky then. Went to my local Tesco today to double up instore and was told the computers were down and being fixed (and it wasn't just confined to the local branches).
They insisted that they couldn't do anything to help me, couldn't give out any credit notes instead and that it was unlikely to be extended. All they could advise was calling back in an hour or two.
I phoned Tesco later in the day and was told that 'some' Tesco systems had been off for about an hour but basically it was 'tough luck' - nothing I could do.
VERY unhelpful.
I'm going to ring Customer Services tomorrow - anyone else had a similar experience and got a result from it?0 -
I went on saturday to double up and the systems were down. They kept coming back on and then going off again. After having gone back again I complained very politely and the SA managed to do it very quickly before the system crashed again.
She said that the staff were really fed up with the whole thing and that her manager was going to take it further when it ended and it had been a complete nightmare.
I fail to understand why this scheme was made so complicated for everyone concerned, customers and staff alike. Surely the simplest way would have been to just use your clubcard voucher in the normal way and the system just double the value.0 -

Simple to you maybe, but not so for Tesco who would have had no control on what goods the doubled vouchers were spent on.
A small minority have had a less than perfect experience with this scheme, but by and large most people have been very satisfied as indicated by the posts made in the spirit of my OP.
That is the way of most things in this world; as someone famous once said "you cannot please all the people all the time".0 -
Only had £30 worth as we don't shop in Tesco much, so treated my two little ones to some toys.0

I exchanged £25 worth of clubcard vouchers into £50 to spend on toys online. I had no problem doing this and successfully placed my order and asked for delivery to the store to avoid £5 delivery charge.
However on the day I went to collect my order it was chaos instore. There is no separate Tesco Direct point so we all queued up at the customer services counter. We had to wait over 20 minutes to get to the till and when we finally got to the front the sales advisor very rudely said she was only doing Lotto.
I complained that we'd been waiting over 20 minutes and it was obvious by her response that they were inundated with people collecting Tesco Direct items and they were not happy about it.
It took ages for her to bring the order up - she was literally banging her keyboard and then asked me how big the box was??? Then another assistant was throwing all the parcels about in the back room trying to locate a 'biggish box'.
I am sympathetic to the staff as they pointed out that they were doing cigarettes, lotto, refunds and Tesco Direct all from Customer Services - 3 tills but even so there's no excuse for rudeness.
The Manager was eventually called over because it started kicking off behind us in the queue because of how long people were waiting.
I finally got my item but I must admit it has put me off ordering anything via Tesco Direct. Never again.0
