I didn't think you were supposed to keep dogs in a council flat, there's usually something in the Tenancy agreement banning pets.
"Sheffield Homes, which manages the city's 42,000 council houses, said a rule banning dogs from flats has always been in place."

Will you now be asking the owner of the house you are buying (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/26379250) if you can bury your dead Koi in their garden?Don't make old people mad. We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to p*** us off.0 -

lots of ppl ignore their tenancy agreements....
the bloke below me has a huge dog cooped up in a london flat with a small balcony. our's is private so is his, unless he owns the place, but even then he'd be breaking the long lease.

No there isn't. I can keep 2 dogs in my council flat if i choose to. I actually have the letter from the council confirming this as well. There is nothing whatsoever about pets being banned from council flats. Not all councils follow the one example you linked to.0
