OP should have been more firm with them.
Seriously disgusting leaving a dead dog in the shed. It'll start rotting in this weather quite quickly.
Are they there digging the hole now?0 -
A dead dog in the shed is not as bad as a the bomb site that was a pond

Finally got the Mrs to talk to me last night. She told me what happened was stupid and wrecked the garden and she wants the garden reasonable for when we got home.
So i called the buyers last night who had gone to bed and asked them to come round this am before I go to work to bury the dog.
He came round at first light (5.45am) and I was abit embarrased to be wearing the same pajamas as previous morning and I made him a cup of tea. Not as embarasssed as when he opened the shed door and I saw him have to lift the flymo off the dog (i take it it slipped with all the heaving)
He has dug to the side of the pond where the wetness of the draining made it a bit easier (clumps instead of loose bits of soil) and he mixed in some stuff as well. He struggled with he dog a bit on his own (i didnt offer) and the dog is now buried, with mother in laws peg bag over its face.
I did ask why they have put a bag over the dog's face and they said firstly it was to stop any flies etc getting in (flystrike? he said) and because they didnt want his face in the soil, which I can understand.
They didnt remove the now shredded bits of pond liner and I have decided I am just going to leave the area as it is. I have put up a bit of chicken wire and tacked it to a few old sticks to hopefullys top my little dog and any other animal going at it.
Half the garden is sodden and I am sorry to say my shed is smelling a bit weird. There is also a watery stain where his bottom end has been. I would have put some magic tress in there last night, but I didnt want to dog cocking his leg up.
Anyay, I just hope they get on with it.
For the disbelievers (and I had to post this on facebook to allow a copy and paste)0 -

If this is true, then it is fab (& your wife has my sympathies!). If not, thenit is a fab story/thread anyway
