Why would there be any sort of bag over the dogs head? Esp. a 'bag for life', a bit sick don't you think of a grieving owner?

well you say that, but when my rats died and i asked my mum to bury them in their garden, she came round with an empty whiskers box and put them in there

i didnt really look. all i saw was the fur poking out the top of the boot and ironically a tesco bag for life over its head.
Sorry but this thread in general and this quote in particular made me LOL. :rotfl:

What a dilemma! Can't believe they asked, not sure what I would do, probably agree but then you're got the pond problem, very tricky.
  • I can't believe the new owners, who are clearly pet lovers, are happy to see a pond full of fish be turfed out and left to die in a bath so that they can bury their dog in place.

the man has turned up with his 20 something daughter. he said he is going to prepare the ground and then his wife is going to drive over with the dog, they are treating the garden like their own. I have given them a cup of tea. OH is out so I cant even go down the chippy. feels a bit awkward.

it has got very strange though and now I have a bad feeling. He turned up and went out to the garden looked around and asked do i mind if he removes the pond liner, I said fine. He looked at the concrete base and asked me why i concreted it. I told him there was a lot of builders rubble etc and to protect the pond liner i chucked in cement as i was doing the patio.

the gobsmaker is that it emerges the dog belongs to the daughter but because she lives in a council flat, she cant bury it on communial grounds. She took the dog when she left home so i now see why the parents were upset. Daughter is tearful. I assumed that the parents owned the dog, not that they are the middleman.

So now they are hammering in garden (the neighbours will complain if this carries on), I am being made to feel guilty and the dog isnt theirs.

i have put the fish on freecycle, I am feeling worse about all this now and the dog hasnt arrived yet. I am never moving again.

    :( nightmare.

Hope the rest of your evening goes better.

You would be at liberty to tell them to go away. Say you can't bear the thought and give them the number of a vet/funeral place.

good god, please tell me this isnt true, this is a wind up right? what sort of people are they? you're telling me that this person, had a dog, it died, she asked her mum and dad to sort out burying it but rather than bury it in their own garden they come round an ask a relative stranger if they can bury it in theirs????? we have no guarantee that the house sale will go through do we?? have you seen their mortgage guarantee???
