Surely these forum pages are for reasoned debate not censorship?

I write as the father of two "handicapped" children (actually we all have disabilities of some sort or another - that is the lottery of life).

I am happy to defend myself and my children in any circumstances and I find the reasonable poster usually gets support from the overwhelmingly fair minded majority of other posters.

Take this thread as an example:

(There are people posting on here who have had their own struggle in life and are well supported by the forum)

"Reasoned debate" doesn't extend to "just insult everyone".

In effect MSE does not condone, condemn or seek any position on Tax Avoidance by Corporates which is well known and spoken about.
But when it comes down to Benefits Cheats THE WHOLE FORCE OF THE LAW COMES DOWN.
One Rule for the Rich and one for the Poor.
It would be so nice to see those who bash the most vulnerable in Society bash those Tax Lawyers working for Big Business and the 0.01% that MSE does not complain about.
Surely the Tax Forum is just as liable to this problem as the Benefits Forum BUT NO!!! it is only the Benefits Forums that get Benefits Bashing contingent trying to interfere with claims advice. Something welfare rights would never do whilst seeking to be within the framework of the Law.

  • I have always argued that Welfare Rights Independent should be represented here, but instead we get ATOS and Big Business.
The Benefits Forums are NOT SAFE. I would rather use other Forums for Advice and not MSE, shame shame shame on you for not sticking up for the vulnerable who have no end of pressures but who are subject to criminal vulnerabilities as a result of an increasingly complex, unfair and unjust system which purports to support them.
MSE is also very uncritical of the State and DWP.
MSE seems to think they are nice and caring but is very deluded and ignorance about the numerous ways the State and DWP tries to do us out of Benefits, employee rights, pensions etc.

  • MSE has very poor debating skills just resorting to the Daily Mail and Tory press for stories. Whilst debating current affairs is valuable it lacks the complexity which in depth discussion gives based on proper reading of books and having a proper reading of both sides of the debate.

I believe MSE is very gullible to press manipulation and as a result do not have the intellectual equipment to counter the propaganda spouted off by the BBC and it's Tory Toff Scum led ilk.
It is in theses circumstances that googling and looking deeper and closer would do a lot of good.

  • It's about time Disability Hate crime was recognised on these Boards.
In fact I don't think people here really understand disability let alone the lives of those trying to make a life for themselves under impossible circumstances.
I don't think MSE is protective of Disabled as it is of normal 2.4 with normal trajectories of life.
This is not worthy of what is in the MSE Martins heart for disabled and for us all.

  • Just as the world is vilifying Benefits Claimants so there are also Activists Blogs is not MSE not to reflect this. Vilification is taken care of and they descend en masse on the Benefits Forums to do their evil work.
I am for being legal etc.
