Hey you! Sorry for not popping in for so long
.
Sounds like the babysitting has been all go and that £500 is so generous . Hope you have managed to get better from your flu episode, everyone seems to be or have been ill recently. HOw are you getting on with your OU stuff?
x
Oh, we just cross posted! Thanks for popping in! I'm so happy! OU stuff is on the shelves, not going to open the books for another couple of days. Assignment submitted, waiting for result!0 -
Merry Xmas Everyone! Hopefully it is a good one.
I just got a huge tax bill on my doorstep from property abroad, thankfully I was expecting it and had the money on a saving account so that is now paid and looking forward to a fresh start of the new year. Lots of ideas, will try to make £5 extra a day every month, let's hope I can achieve it!0 -
December salary arrived, so another £700 overpayment towards Lloyds has been made today. December overpayment so far £1200 from salary and £1000 bonus, a massive £2200. Very happy bunny indeed.
Went for the Xmas sales and bought what I needed- 2 bras and 6 knickers for £20. I don't need anything else so well chuffed of not spending any more money on this.
We're off on a short break on Sunday and I realized yest that our transfer ticket is to the wrong airport, we have train tickets to Gatwick and flying from Stansted so I managed to ask for a refund on the Gatwick tickets (though £7 less) and need to buy tickets to S.-if I get a discount code than it would only be the £7 loss, if not than £17. Not the end of the world but would be happier with a 25%off discount code. We shall see.
Back at work today, off to library this afternoon and off tmrw and on Friday. I'm going for my facial (boss' present) on Friday, can't wait and will schedule 3 gym sessions before we fly out.
We did play with Snowball over the Xmas period, if everything goes according to the plan than we should be debt free by next Xmas-that would be so good, I kind of started to hope again but feel that we might not be as lucky. OH wants to change his job and my job might end in September as well-we don't know it for sure till May.0 -
New Year's Eve babysitting-yawning and hiccupping. Not ideal but hey, the money will be good. Bank balance looks very unhealthy, just counted that by the time all direct debit goes out I will be left with £5. Another reason to get some extra cash...
What I need to focus on next year:- PAY back Lloyds ASAP but before 1st May
- pay back Tesco's
- Be up-to-date with Hungarian tax
- Focus on my eating
- train for Marathon
- Finish both OU studies and start a 3rd course
- save £365 by 1st Dec and spend it on Xmas/sales next year
- Make £5 extra per day-£1825 for the whole year
- ebay as much as I can
- be more organized regarding bills/etc
- upgrade phone and use quidco

Back from holiday, it was good, nice and sunny but not the greatest I think. Had lots of talk about future with OH and our dreams are so different
. HIs are unrealistic, and I really don't want them. Oh, never mind, we will find a solution I believe.
I had a bit of a wobble of our debts as well, it really scares me and I have to do everything to reduce them. We want to try for a baby as soon as we pay back these loans but the mortgages on investment properties are getting a bit too much as well so need to re-think our goals.
But right now today's tasks:- buy bread, tomatoes, banana
- pay in babysitting money
- post postcard to godkiddos
- check foreign bank accounts
- pay money towards CC
- study for OU
- set up white wash
- re-list gift set on ebay
- return dvds and library books
- find out where our lovefilm dvd is
- contact little brother and cousin

Sorry to hear about your wobble hun, I think the New year sometimes doesn't help with these things as it's a time when we all start thinking about the coming year, well I certainly have anyway!
I hope you and your OH can find some 'common ground' for your futue, as you say, I am sure that you will! My OH said a little while ago that he feels like I am never happy....I tried my hardest to explain that it's not that I am 'not happy' with what I have got but that I always want more...I strive to achieve the next level of everything. It's just the way I am whereas he is very laid back and happy for his life to just happen if that makes sense?

it does make sense, I am more like your OH, I just don't care and don't want to make plans for the future. But my OH wants to know every details of the next 15 years and it drives me crazy. Well, we shall see.
Not much happening today, my to-do-list is empty. I shall enjoy that.0 -
Another week passed, not much to do till payday. Not buying anything extra and not spending money on anything we don't need. I have my review at work today, thinking about giving notice because of the extra responsibilities they want to give me. It's a bit too much and although I'm happy to take them on, there is no way I can manage all. So we are having a discussion what can be done, how my role can be adjusted (maybe taking away other things), or if it can't be than I will need to give them notice. It's 50/50 at the moment, I will give notice if they don't agree on the things I am not happy with, I already work 50 hours a week and can't do more than that. We shall see, I'm dreading it.
Payday is 2 weeks away, have £70 on my account.

hey my lovely, poor you , how awful of work to try and make you do more. You're right in wanting to chat and sort it out, and if they can't see your point of view I don't blame you for giving notice.
£70 til payday, I know how you feel, I had nothing in my bank until my ebay sales yesterday, but that only equates to £60 with £7 in my purse for petrol this week, not good really.
Keep smiling hun you'll get through this.
